Gotta say I gave up after like an hour. Thought it was awful. Commentary was boring and why are we seeing an instance of 66 taking down the blinds in this kind of cash game!

yeah very boring! eric seidel and chris ferguson offer no entertainment, i really dont enjoy watching them play cash games. and i dont even remember Tony G saying anything. Its got nothing on high stakes poker, although im sure a gabe kablan figure commentating would help!

Yep someone was lacking, all seemed rather dull. I guess we get used to HSP which is alot more entertaining.

defo a little boring they all seemed to be playing too tight except maybe ivey but suppose we got to remember they are playin for a hell of a lot of money but i still expected more action.

Yeah, i thought this was going a gr8 show like hsp.  but it was absolutely terrible imo.

I didint think it was 'that' bad, but it didnt really excite...

Over-hyped - biggest cash game ever shown in the world (intro)/Europe (early in commentary)? My arse. HSP season 1 has been shown on TV in the UK and with DN sitting down with $1m in the first season they can't even claim that for Europe let alone the world.

No continuity - how many more times do we need to see hand rankings, betting guides and even the same old stuff in player interviews breaking up the play? For a progam shown on satellite/cable there is no excuse for repeating this same old stuff during the main show. Put it on the red button. Even for the terrestrial channel stuff I think we've seen the standard "official poker ladder" too may times now. Put a link to a website, or a telextext page, and just get on with the bloody poker.

All in all, the half hour I watched before turning off made for deadly dull TV.

Im bk @ my uni flat now + we dnt have sky, so will catch on pokertube just to c if they show the sick ivey/antonius hand.

I probably am going to give it another spin, only because there is sod all else i want to watch on.

Not massive amounts of excitement - just got it on in the background.

I dont find that all kinds of poker makes great TV. I aint seen the one everyones referring to but it sounds pretty boring.

The Matchroom tournaments (The Poker Million & The 888.com UK Open) I find to be quite repetitive, predictable and some of the play in them is shocking from the online qualifiers/amateurs. The nature of the structure, and how it's designed for TV, makes it all seem a bit too manufactured. I'd much rather watch a WSOP final table on PokerTube than a 6 handed all-in fest.

However, High Stakes Poker is the benchmark format for me. They've got two great commentators in AJ Benza and Gabe (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1208) Kaplan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1208), and the players deliver some quality banter.

agreed on both counts..HSP does set the standard others have to try to meet.

Kaplans actually a very knoweldgeable player too. I was watching some of the footage from the 2007 H.O.R.S.E tournament. He was sat next to Freddy Deeb for most of it. They go back a long way and the banter was flowing. Freddy actually bust him out with quad 6's in 7 Stud too!
