Title: So, we flop a straight flush, now how to get paid? Post by: AlexMartin on January 16, 2008, 09:56:29 AM Villain and me have tangled before, he 3bet me pre, i shoved 1010 and he called w AK and hit. Given a minor bit of abuse to the table while playing pretty tight for the past hour. Anyone got a better line that makes more money ling-term? Note its a 3-way pot.

Post by: TheChipPrince on January 16, 2008, 10:02:44 AM Insta min-raise the river to look like an idiot? But he's put $280 in so far, nearly half his stack, so I really don't think he has anything at all, if he had half a hand he would have checked the river...

Post by: Snatiramas on January 16, 2008, 10:25:42 AM You always have a choice.........the main thing is you have done nothing wrong. would he have called a min reraise....... possibly. He might have reraised you....but unlikely. Pretty sure he folds regardless. But what do I know? I don't play cash

The push on the river will be called if he's got a hand enough times to make the shove a profitable play. You min-raise and he might call, and then you're wondering if he would call a push. But then again, maybe a min-raise lets him hang himself. Oh, I don't know... Title: Re: So, we flop a straight flush, now how to get paid? Post by: Longy on January 16, 2008, 01:27:46 PM Lol Alex you play so different to me. I would have lead the river personally but i rarely check raise rivers (possible leak?). The rest of the hand is player dependent, donking the flop, check raising the turn all very much based on how a view the opponent.
I think this is one of those you can play numerous different ways and not be wrong. One thing I will say i think shoving the river is alot better than min raising from what I have seen of your image where you have bluffed in this spot before. ($120ish) 75 seems perfect, i assume your trying to make it look like your after a cheap card? Yeah, "trying to buy a flush draw", hoping villain puts me on bare As. Was thinking about leading but multiway this can shut down my action unless oppo has As/made flush. WRT river lead Longy, im unsure how much i can get off hands which have been hurt by turn+river big cards. I thought with a river lead he might fold a larger % of hands thanhe would bluff with..... (need to do more analysis on this generally). Also, i did some PT studies and i deffo dont CR the river enough with big big hands, so have tried to mix it here. Hand was interesting coz opponent folded.......AQ! FFS! |
