One thing is for sure. Our season cannot possiby get worse. (Unless this is the excuse the owners need to sack Benitez) Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: The Baron on January 21, 2008, 09:57:10 PM Crouch saves Benitez methinks.
Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: kinboshi on January 21, 2008, 10:00:45 PM Why, oh why, oh why doesn't Rafa start with his two best forwards? Bringing him on with only 11 minutes to go is bonkers.

Benitez will be sacked by the Americans sooner or later and it wont be for footballing reasons. They'll come up with an excuse (like losing to Villa last night) and get rid eventually. Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: booder on January 22, 2008, 08:39:17 PM Crouch saves Benitez methinks. you've changed yer tune, Mr "Benitez is bullet proof he's never going" :D My tune is the exact same one it was the last two times the subject has come up. Not celebrating early just enjoying the angst and comedy of it all. Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: dan on January 25, 2008, 04:59:45 PM Well the Americans have refinanced the £350m . I take it that means its unlikely that DIC will know buy the club???
The statement confirmed that of the £350million financing package, £105million will be debt tied to the club. It is understood £60million will be used to kick-start the stadium and £45million for future player transfers, and to meet the club's working capital needs. The other £245million will be tied to the holding company level and includes the £60million debts on Liverpool's books at the time of last year's takeover as well as the £185million loan the Americans took out to buy the club I think if I was a Liverpool fan this would concern me. £60m to kick start the stadium, where does the rest come from?? £45m for players and "club's working capital needs" I take it this means wages etc but what happens if Liverpool (and I dont think they will) fail to qualify for the CL and/or get eliminated against Inter, with that lack of income will this eat into the £45m? The interest on this loan will be massive who pays it?? The club? The owners? Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: boldie on January 25, 2008, 05:10:30 PM yeah I wouldn't be happy about this if I were a Liverpool supporter..this might cost them dearly.
Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: CrestOfaWave on January 25, 2008, 05:27:34 PM refinanceincreditcrunchaments ... very dangerous ...
wouldn't be good for the city of Liverpool if this does trip them up. No one seems to have pointed the finger at Parry or Moores - DIC would have been the owners if they hadnt of looked for a better payout for themselves... Kin - you and I will never support same team ... Wigan vs St Helens Liverpool vs Everton England vs New Zealand Yes, you have my pity... ;D Wigan are going to be a force this season. Looking like a very good team in pre-season, and that's without Calderwood, Pryce, Fielden, Hock and Mathers. Going to the first game of the season at the Quins. Really looking forward to this season. Quote at least we can laugh at the Aussies and Mancs together when they trip up... Agreed. Quote Not celebrating early just enjoying the angst and comedy of it all. Looking forward to the Everton in Europe DVD for 2008. Usually out in September? I have absolutely no idea why the rest of the stadiums' cost hasn't been mentioned by the media. Maybe Hansen couldn't stand the embarrassment. i would prefer to have Arsenal-newcastle to be honest We have the big teams rammed down our throats week in week out. I would rather the tv games reflect the romance of the cup. Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: Graham C on January 26, 2008, 04:15:27 PM I can't believe how poor the TV for the FA cup is this weekend. You have arguably the ties of the round in Liverpool v Havent and Arsenal v Newcastle and neither are on the telebox - pretty poor stuff, I suppose the Man U v Spurs game is the best televised game.
Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: KarmaDope on January 26, 2008, 04:20:36 PM 4-2... :D
Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: Graham C on January 26, 2008, 04:21:19 PM meh, come on Havent!
Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: boldie on January 26, 2008, 04:44:51 PM 4-2... :D lol at smiling when you're beating Havant 4-2. It's not easy being a Liverpool supporter anymore, is it? Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: Newportlad on January 26, 2008, 05:30:32 PM Blue Square had a promotion on today. Place a £10 single bet on the FA cup today, and if Havant & Waterlooville scored they would give you a free £20 bet.
I stuck my £10 on WBA to win. Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: vegaslover on January 26, 2008, 07:49:17 PM Blue Square had a promotion on today. Place a £10 single bet on the FA cup today, and if Havant & Waterlooville scored they would give you a free £20 bet. Nice oneI stuck my £10 on WBA to win. Corporate affairs defo taken over the cup, and devalues it inho. Havant v swansea would of been a much better game to show in the replays instead of that rubbish at man city in the last round. Liverpool v Havant would of been a much better game to show in this round. Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: Graham C on January 27, 2008, 12:14:52 AM I can't believe how poor the TV for the FA cup is this weekend. Havant could probably use the TV money too Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: Longy on January 27, 2008, 01:47:06 AM It's great that the likes of Mansfield get tv games, but it would be nice if there was one week or round of the cup when they don't show Man U and Chelsea at the expense of better ties. Havant could probably use the TV money too Instead we should show a match between two premiership teams one of whom is Arsenal who are on TV as much as Chelsea or Man U which is likely to be uncompetitative (the game had to be picked pre Keegan and could have been Stoke) given Newcastles mediocre season. Lol at anyone who thought the Liverpool vs Havant game was going to be anything but a rout and all over in all probability very quickly. Instead the bbc have chosen matches when the underdog is likely to be competitive against superior opposition, giving the best conditions for a classic FA cup match. Please let alot of you, never be in charge of picking matches for TV. Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: bobby1 on January 27, 2008, 02:39:05 AM televised football has sunk beyond repair for me, I am sick to death of watchin the same old cheating teams play every week. Premiership teams have a pecking order when it comes to tv games, ref decisions and arrogance so let em get on with it but please stop ramming the same shite down our throats every week. I would have rather wtched Oldham v Huddersfield or Watford v Wolves instead of the cheat infested Prem games.
rant over thanks for listening Title: Re: Liverpool Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 27, 2008, 03:57:46 AM watching footy online ftw
