If this is a general policy as opposed to one for just your Blonde satellite I think it's disappointing as it undermines the concept of everyone winning their seat at the event. It also raises the spectre of someone with no intention of going playing on behalf of other people, possibly winning a seat for a weaker player at the expense of a stronger player they knock out. And it almost legitimises the actions of a player who won their seat in the weekly final last weekend and who last night won a seat to next Sunday's weekly final using the same account and publically stated they were playing to win a seat for their wife. I was told by virgi (http://travis.bosscasinos.com/re.asp?name=POK&camp=REF5111_0&go=http%3a%2f%2fwww.virginpoker.com)n (http://travis.bosscasinos.com/re.asp?name=POK&camp=REF5111_0&go=http%3a%2f%2fwww.virginpoker.com) that anyone who wins a second seat will have to forfeit it, but after hearing that seats are transferrable beween players I'm not sure I believe that now. They might just as well allow people to buy-in directly. I don't blame the guy for trying but its not really on is it? Also whilst Rich entered the comp with the very best of intentions but its a bit gutting when he knocks you out & you know he can't play the fessie. Title: Re: Virgin festival satt Post by: Jon MW on January 22, 2008, 01:51:27 PM In the terms and conditions for the first Virgin Festival it essentially stated that there was no alternative to a seat and if you couldn't make it then it would be awarded to the next person down in the satellite (there was a lot more detail, but that's what it boiled down to).
But it also had the normal clauses saying the organisers could change the rules whenever they wanted, and I believe there were some flexible decisions made. I've decided against trying to get into this one so I haven't looked at the T&C's this time, but I would have thought they'd be similar. Title: Re: Virgin festival satt Post by: gatso on January 22, 2008, 02:03:17 PM have to agree, all seems a bit ridiculous, why have sat only entry when people can effectively just buy in anyway.

Title: Re: Virgin festival satt Post by: TightEnd on January 22, 2008, 06:30:22 PM Well, I have been asked to post this by Virgin, so here goes
"For the previous Festival we allowed a couple of seats to be transferred between players on forums because they couldn’t make it. The seats were passed on for cost (£105) to genuine fellow forum members and it didn’t cause any problems. For that reason we said earlier this morning that we’d allow the same thing to happen for our Newcastle festival in April. Unfortunately, due to the great demand for seats, this decision has now created a black market for tickets with players looking to make a profit by selling their seats on. This isn’t in the spirit of fun and enjoyment that we are trying to create at the Virgin Festivals and therefore we are going to have to take away the option for players to exchange names on seats. As close partners of Virgin we’re prepared to allow your forum members the ability to give their seat to a fellow forum member on the below conditions: - There is a genuine reason why they can’t make it. - It’s transferred to a genuine fellow forum member. - Both of the above are validated by either you or another known forum mod. - The price paid for the seat is not in excess of £105. Clearly even this is open to the prospect of abuse but as we’ve worked closely with your forum for some time I hope your members will respect that. Any players found to be abusing it will have £105 returned to their account and the main event seat withdrawn. Sorry for having to send out such a formal e-mail but we want to nip this in the bud straight away before more bad feeling is caused. If you wish to publish any or all of this on your forums to clear the situation up with your members then that is fine. Regards, Joe" Title: Re: Virgin festival satt Post by: morlspin on January 22, 2008, 06:48:40 PM For anybody who was wondering a seat was awarded to 8th(Morlspin) but not 9th(Me). If he is playing the event or not I don't know..up to him. If he does transfer, then rules as per that email including verification that its to another forum member, by me.
2 Yes, I have fed that back to Virgin already..they made a mistake, have apologised for that and hopefully no confusion next time if we are fortunate enough to be offered the chance to run more for the blondes Title: Re: Virgin festival satt Post by: Ecosse on January 22, 2008, 08:20:23 PM Just to-reiterate, any blondes willing to 'transfer' their seat, i'd be more than willing to accomodate. Dougie. Title: Re: Virgin festival satt Post by: M3boy on January 22, 2008, 08:49:07 PM Just to-reiterate, any blondes willing to 'transfer' their seat, i'd be more than willing to accomodate. Dougie. I would hope that ANY blonde who was going to "transfer" their seat would give Sharky first offer.
