Doesn't one of the pigs build a solid house out of bricks?  The one that can't be blown down?  The story is saying be careful about which pig you get to build your house, as the wrong one will cut corners and a wolf will blow it down.  Get the right one, and you have yourself a nice little investment.  As long as it's not near a river.

I think it's brilliant. I don't want to hear kids sing, most of them are shit singers..anything that gets them to keep their tiny mouths shut is a good thing. Have you never been to a birthday party or over at a friends house and their 5 YO can "sing a song"..Their parents actively encourage him to sing the little song for you and you have to pretend to listen and be impressed?

there is a middle ground between the PC nutters and Daily Mail..that gets lost sometimes in discussions about this sort of thing..not good.

He's got none (as far as I know)  But he is himself just a big kid. Hearing him sing is more painful than any number of 5 year olds.............

Doesn't surprise me.  Our daughter has a lot of stories that are remakes of stuff I had when I was a kids and loads of them have changed.

none of course..but when I do they shall be blessed with the voice of an Angel (if they take after me obviously) yet I promise you that if you come to my house my kids will not be asked to sing nursery rhymes for Uncie Tighty so that Uncie Tighty does not have to sit there grinning like a demented poodle while contemplating killing himself and wondering if the horror of the situation is displayed on his face as that would be rude...let alone having to applaud when the singing is done.
