Title: Kill Everyone... Post by: jjandellis on January 26, 2008, 01:32:39 AM OK, no I'm not going nuts out here in Norway - I'm looking for some study books.
I have a Slotboom Omaha on the way, as well as Greensteins Ace on the River for a different type of poker read. However I just read somewhere that Lee Nelsons 'Kill Everyone' was the latest theory coming out of the States. I've had a sniff around his website and forum and it seems pretty heavy stuff on the maths. I like to think I'm quite astute on maths/stats but this looks like its HEAVY... a. Is the book any good and worth the money? b. Is it possible to translate his theories to live play (and internet) when u don't have the advantage of computer programmes to do ICM's etc etc for you? What concerns me is that the snippet I have read concerned pushing your stack a long way from the money. I have seen a few players doing this recently and to great affect, gathering up eye wateringly huge chip stacks along the way. Could it be that these players are putting this theory into practice? Is it ACTUALLY effective in the long run in TOURNAMENT poker? |
