Villain is unknown quantity. A lot of the time i check behind flop here but what to do now we got to turn?

It's not super weak... You've shown a lot of strength pre- and post-flop so he has no reason to think you are weak when he leads the turn. If you call it must be with the intention of checking down or folding on the river, so even though you are getting 3.3-1 on your turn call I doubt you will reach a showdown and then win the pot often enough to make that line +EV, ergo folding looks good.

I like the flop bet. It's big enough to look like a strong hand and discourage bluffs, and probably saves you money against all the hands beating you whilst also avoiding giving free cards to those that don't.

Guess i just felt that the 2 is obv a brick and what can he have here? His range is all over the shop, but board is too dangerous for JJ/QQ/AK/AA ergo surely i would have heard from him on flop? Guess i feel he looks pretty weak and is shoving the turn a good play...

I sometimes check behind this flop, as a form of pot control with a marginal hand.

As played folding the turn i think is pretty standard, rarely are you are ahead here and its a reversed implied odds spot as on a blank river you are going to be committed to calling alot of river bets.
