Title: Step aside coal miners, this is a real challange Post by: Royal Flush on January 30, 2008, 11:39:24 AM OK, some of you may remember the stuck in a closet for 24hrs trick that went down last year, well hows this for a challenge?
Live in a car The rules: 144 hrs of homlessness living out his car! Not alowed to go into his own house not allowed to shower unless its public place Not allowed to use toilet unless it is public one No use of cards cash only... money arrangements prior to commencment of bet! (£5 per day in small change) may not be in any other persons house for longer than two hours a day (so 2hours a day TOTAL of being in other ppls houses) must go to one job interview in that week Cannot use car for transport Now if you hadn't noticed its the middle of winter, this however has not stopped blondeite 'ChipLeader' aka Brighton Uni student Khalid Basyuni from attempting the challange. He started the challenge on Monday afternoon and myself and a friend went to check on him yesterday, this is what we found: (http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v184/4/110/547120570/n547120570_2176705_5089.jpg) (http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v184/4/110/547120570/n547120570_2176706_5422.jpg) (http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v184/4/110/547120570/n547120570_2176702_4174.jpg) We managed to conduct a little trade with the man: (http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v184/4/110/547120570/n547120570_2176704_4789.jpg) Anyway i am sure he will try to get on here to let you all know how he is getting on, i will be going down there later to find out how he managed with the near freezing night later on. As always there is a facebook group..... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7185777461 (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7185777461) Title: Re: Step aside coal miners, this is a real challange Post by: vegaslover on January 30, 2008, 12:08:24 PM lol at the challenge

The day was boring... didnt really no wat to do! i moved into my new house and found myself trying to settle in! Evan gave me my five pounds allowance and him and adam left me in the cold alone...Although i did get a visit from the lovely ciara and moniika... untill they ddecided they wanted to go into my house and c rocky while i waited outside...As i had already eaten i thought i would go to the bookies and see what i can do with this £5 and use that as a marker for future reference... i went to the roulette machine and someone had left 5p in there... HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I put my fiver in and chose the blackjack option and i went all in on 1 box... first card J dealer shows an 8 second card 10... dealer gets 18 and im now on £10.05(jackpot) go back to my car only to find evan ringing me asking me if i wanted to play the £10 rebuy in the grosvenor... couldnt really afford it but thought id go down for the free sandwiches. once down there evan decides to sponsor me for £32.50... As usual wen its not ur money i win the tournament for £530(ironically beating evan heads up-no deal done) and was only in for £22.50... Evan took my money and said he will hand it over after the challenge! Evan Adam Sophia and Josie decided to celebrate by buying a bottle of champaigne while i was confined to drinkng milk to keep me through the night! (i have to say this cuz she was sooo proud last night Sophia did a great "thats wat she sed" joke) after deciding that they were gonna get a taxi home(which i wasnt allowed on) i decided to walk home! half way home and i realise i BADLY needed the toilet and the casino was the only place thats open at that time! walked all the way back used the toilet only to get a txt from wendy and the kappa that they r going to buddies. i joined them and got a lift with them! Trying to get to sleep took a while as i spent about an hour trying to find the most comfortable position! soon realised that such a thing doesnt really excist and i now had to find the least painful position! the sleep wasnt that bad but woke up a couple of times through the night! DAY 2 After yesterdays updates i just hung around uni for a bit just cuz it was warm, talking to several ppl! i then got really tired so decided to go back 'home' and for a little nap! i heard tapping on my window and was awoken to the sight of nick and flushy looking in! Flushy thought it would be a good idea to bring his camera and take pictures of me and put it on blondepoker.com After that i went and watched the simpsons in Betfred(no blackjack this time) and went to princes house for my 1 hour! we watched a bit of the game and then headed down to the casino! i did not intend to play but it was adam that sponsored me this timeand all 3 of us were out by midnight! decided to take the night bus home but as i had a normal saver i had to pay an extra pound... which i cud just about afford! went back to the car and watched csi for a bit then went to bed at 1:09! Woke up at 8:50 this morning! Freezing is not a word that can be used to describe the weather this morning! because of my hieght and the space in my car i have to sleep with my knees bent and the cold weather ment that my knees locked... and are still locked, with a great deal of pain. Title: Re: Step aside coal miners, this is a real challange Post by: boldie on January 30, 2008, 02:09:21 PM went back to the car at 1.09 and watched CSI for a bit?...wow..luxury homeless ;)

homeless people can get an iphone if they want! lol will keep u updated through out the week... if i still have energy Title: Re: Step aside coal miners, this is a real challange Post by: Chipleader on January 31, 2008, 01:03:22 PM DAY 3
Woke up at half 8 to my feet freezing in the cold! A wierd old man got the shock of his life when out of nowhere my car door opped and out i popped! went into uni as it was too cold to go do anything else. Tried to ring evan several times to get my £5 but phone was switched off! had a few quid left over anyway! went into uni and bumped into Alice monika and Aneka in the SU! sat with them for a bit while they revised for their test! was pretty hungry so bought toast and jam for 75p. Went into the computer room and typed up the day before's update! after that i did this quiz that i found and that lasted for around 3 hrs! Dip and Rafif joined in the fun later on( incidently http://www.addictinggames.com/theimpossiblequiz.html )...after i got bored of that i rung evan and got the £5 off him! i still had money left on top of the fiver so i decided to treat myself! Most of you are probably thinking i bought a meal or something along those lines! nope! Went sightseeing! Bought a £3.20 Bus saver and sat on a bus as it did it tour of brighton! If anyone is to do this on their next visit i recomend doing it on the 49 as it is more interesting than the 25. Got a phonecall from flushy enquiring on my whereabouts as he was and i quote " at ur place"... went to a mates house to watch Egypt vs Zambia! only went for the second half as i wud have been kicked out before it finished! I got picked up to go to the casino and was sponsored again in the £50 Freezeout! At this point, after only getting around 3 hours sleep the night before, was really tired and didnt want to be there but had quitte a few chips! then i got moved to flushys left! it was obvious he was tired too(was telling me something about it being too hot in his flat last night...alright for some) and it was clear he had otherthings on his mind! we decided to push blind wen it wwas folded round to us! doubled him up! he runs good! got knocked out in 11th and had to wait for my lift who was on final! got 'home' and it was absolutly freezing! sat in the front seet for a bit while the car was heating up then want to bet at around 4:30 Title: Re: Step aside coal miners, this is a real challange Post by: Graham C on January 31, 2008, 01:21:49 PM LOL All the best :D

Title: Re: Step aside coal miners, this is a real challange Post by: Graham C on January 31, 2008, 04:30:38 PM I think you need to spice things up a bit tbh, he has the life of luxury compared to the cupboard challenge. You are being far to nice to him - 2 hours in peoples houses per day, freezeouts at the casino, I'm sure you can do better :)

Title: Re: Step aside coal miners, this is a real challange Post by: Sark79 on January 31, 2008, 06:21:16 PM lol, this is a great thread. I would never do the bus tour :D , absolute madness. I would have gone to the local railway station and picked up several free metro newspapers that contained a voucher for 'buy one get one free' pot noddles. You could have had a nice amount of food stored up and heated them up at Uni when you were hungry, for a homeless person like yourself you could eat like a king :) . With the extra money you could buy a blanket from oxfam for £1.50 and some petrol to run the car heater for a while.
good luck mate Title: Re: Step aside coal miners, this is a real challange Post by: TightEnd on January 31, 2008, 07:17:45 PM Sark, baby!!!
