Title: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: Ironside on February 01, 2008, 10:54:15 AM playing against the team that finished one spot above me last year i managed to beat them in the 2nd fixture of last season as there PFL was shot to pieces
i have no chance in this match but dont tell that to my players its a seamers pitch but i havent any wickets in first 6 overs keeping the run rate under 4 though if i can stop them getting over 250 i will be happy Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: divaflava on February 01, 2008, 12:10:31 PM last year's second(me) vs last season's non-promoted table-toppers (them)
Got off to a flyer with 63-0 off the first 10 but they've pegged me back since, now 125-1 off 25 but beginning to look like taking the run rate back over 5 (green pitch, sunny) Reckon par today is 300. GL all! Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: Bongo on February 01, 2008, 12:50:20 PM After increasing in form over the off season my destructive fast bowler started the season with an awesome spell of 5-1-17-4.
Currently End of Over 37: 109-8, runrate=2.95, I'm half hoping these 2 survive to the last 40 so my man can get his 5for! This is against the team who won the league last year, so a good result so far! Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: Bazzaboy on February 01, 2008, 12:52:28 PM I'm playhing the side who finished above me on NRR last season. They got off to a flier on a hard and fast pitch but my bowlers have since reined them in a bit. So long as I don't have a disastrous last 10overs I should have a makeale target.
End of Over 36: 175-2, runrate=4.86 Cranie 8-0-44-1 Chaudry* 4 (8 balls) Shantha 39 (52 balls) Last Wicket: Ogrady lbw b. Talamini 73 (FOW: 158/2) Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: booder on February 01, 2008, 12:58:31 PM going ok at the moment..........End of Over 37: 237-1, runrate=6.41

Worthington 6-0-20-1 Bolland* 12 (20 balls) Ashmore 0 (1 balls) taken out his better batsman i could get him AO which would be great for my team his team is much better than mine i expect hs bowlers to take out my batsmen rather cheaply Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: Ironside on February 01, 2008, 01:34:26 PM End of Over 49: 266-10, runrate=5.43

Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: Bazzaboy on February 01, 2008, 01:44:04 PM My game is finely balanced. conceding 90 off the last 10 overs was disappointing :(

So far so good in my match. A couple of wickets could change everything though End of Over 25: 152-2, runrate=6.08, reqrunrate=5.36 (285-3) Lewis 3-0-29-0 Tau* 12 (10 balls) Harris 57 (52 balls) Last Wicket: Hadland c. Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: Bazzaboy on February 01, 2008, 04:37:42 PM Easy 8 wicket win in one of my target matches for this season :)
Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: divaflava on February 01, 2008, 04:53:03 PM Enormously satisfying 32 run victory. Right, I'm off to plan my Season 10 Div IV campaign ;)
Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: Ironside on February 01, 2008, 06:34:53 PM i lost
hope to take them in the 2nd game when they have ignored there pfl Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: amcgrath1uk on February 01, 2008, 10:08:18 PM 1st OD game in Div V
Put my strongest possible team out they scored 11 off the first over ( from by best bowler).. who got revenge by yorking the guy! Bowled them out for 86 in just under 40 overs, knocked it off losing just the 1 wicket in less than 10 overs Sitting pretty at the top of the league. like that'll last! Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: vegaslover on February 02, 2008, 01:19:23 AM Got beat against best team in the league.
They scored 344, my bowlers are all pants. I managed 332 in reply, was more than I was expecting...lol Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: Newportlad on February 02, 2008, 09:56:57 AM Good win for me
I played a team that should finish about 3rd or 4th in the league. They posted 196 AO on a slow wicket. I got there in 40.4 overs for the loss of just 2 wickets. Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: KeithyB on February 02, 2008, 03:40:40 PM Was up against the other promoted team who I thought looked slightly stronger than my lot.
However it turned out to be very onesided.....thankfully the right way too! rotflmfao And that's the end of the match. Athletico Foxy won by 9 wickets. kildare 165-10 Athletico Foxy 166-1 So that's one div V win chalked up and a possible chink of light in my survival battle. ;yippee; Obviously need two teams below me for a playoff to stay up and I can now target kildare as one and maybe CRSM as another. In fact if anyone could explain to me what's going on at CRSM then I would be grateful.......he's a very active manager but then take a look at his current squad and transfer dealings! :dontask: Title: Re: brattrck OD S09 Week 1 Post by: kingjon on February 02, 2008, 08:53:00 PM I played one of the promotion-hopefuls in my league and was almost tempted to PIC with only a selection of first-team players. I decided to PAN, field a full-strength team, and against the odds I came out with a narrow (and unexpected) victory. The stats say I should've lost - obviously some good tactics somewhere in there... or luck!!
