Title: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Post by: IRISH LASSIE on February 07, 2008, 08:03:11 PM Newbie here. I just HAVE to ask.. and forgive me if this is answered somewhere, but I haven't found it yet..
Why the name 'blonde' poker? Is everyone here a 'blonde' down deep? ;) Or perhaps it's a 'playing style'.. Please educate this newbie!! Cheers! Title: Re: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Post by: TightEnd on February 07, 2008, 08:12:19 PM Site began in early 2005, brainchild of Dave Colclough and Tony Kendall ("tikay")
Dave's poker nickname.."elblondie" after his very light hair..hence blonde Poker. Title: Re: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Post by: M3boy on February 07, 2008, 08:12:58 PM sounds better than "brunette poker" ;)
BTW - Welcome to Blonde Title: Re: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Post by: IRISH LASSIE on February 07, 2008, 08:19:27 PM Ahh-hah!
Well, thanks to elblondie and Tikay for starting the site! I got here as fast as I could, you know! I've been watching some, but decided to try and learn. Thanks for the insight! And, yes, M3boy -- it's even better than 'bald poker', I imagine! :) Title: Re: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Post by: taximan007 on February 08, 2008, 03:29:05 AM Welcome :hello:

Post by: TheChipPrince on February 08, 2008, 09:26:04 AM Presume this is ok to ask? Does Dave Colclough still have anything to do with Blonde? Shares/owership etc etc... Who actually 'owns' Blonde?

A slight correction there, for the sake of clarity. It was Dave's brainchild, but he invited me in as a Partner & Shareholder before the Site went Live, & I've been very much involved in it's day to day running ever since. I was Dave's "deputy" while he was involved, with specific responsibility for the Forum (we have a "News/Results/Home Page" & a Cardroom, too) then I took over after he took a step back to concentrate on his poker career, before Rich (TightEnd) subsequently accepted my offer for him to run the Company as CEO, which he has done for just over a year now, working closely with Denis & myself. We hope you'll give our cardroom a go - the revenue from that helps pay for running the whole Site. Good Luck at the Tables, wherever you play. Title: Re: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Title: Re: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Post by: IRISH LASSIE on February 08, 2008, 05:18:57 PM Gee, 'Hi, Boldie!' :)
This crowd is good crack, eh? And again, thanks for all the welcome wishes! Next 'blonde question', if I might-- I notice the preponderance of 'hero members' posting in this thread. What qualifies one for 'hero status?' I hope to get more familiar with the site a wee later... After the other thread comments, perhaps I should try for an online dental degree! Cheers! I.L. Title: Re: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Post by: kinboshi on February 08, 2008, 05:21:46 PM Hero status is conferred on those who have no life away from the forum and so manage to have a large post count.
It isn't anything to strive for... Title: Re: 'BLONDE' Poker??? Post by: Suited_Jock on February 08, 2008, 05:22:39 PM I think you need over 300 posts or something silly like that?
