Title: PS, I love you
Post by: Colchester Kev on February 07, 2008, 11:58:26 PM
Got some cinema tickets for xmas, and decided to use 2 of them tonight for the film in the title of the thread .... CHICK FLICK !!

get to cinema and obviously have to have pick and mix ... so I re enact the peter Kay skit and tell Jane off .. "Woahhhhhh not the fudge, have you felt the weight of them !! NOOOO not the strawberry bon bons either... Have as many marshmallows and flying saucers as you like "  my advice went unheeded though and whilst I filled a bag with chocolate raisins and little chocolate buttons with hundreds & Thousands on them, she went for jelly sweets and those pink shrimp things ... well we get to the till and I did the honourable thing ...... I let Jane pay :D :D :D ... I bought a coke for her & a coffee for myself though , OVER FIVE BLEEDIN QUID !!!

Anyway onto the movie, its a chick flick .... I didnt enjoy it, I didnt laugh out loud numerous times, and I definitely DID NOT cry at the bit where she does karaoke !! ( no proper karaoke, not the Ironside variety)

PS, I love you ... Hated every minute of it !!

But go and see it ... Just make sure its dark and dont tell anyone that you enjoyed it, and ffs dont ever admit to having watery eyes at any stage of it ;)

LOL

Sadly it's all true, and yes I did ignore him!

Loved the film - enough to actually be willing to buy it when it's released in the future, definitely one for my Chick Flick collection.

It's OK Kev, your secrets safe with me ;)

Seen this a few weeks ago. fell asleep after 25 minutes but Kirsty loved it and got to go to poker that evening as my reward for taking her. Everyone's a winner!!!

However, please dont think i fall asleep at all the girly films, i proved this to myself last week by staying awake through the whole of St Trinians ;D

I enjoyed it, on par with juno imo, seen loads of streamed movies recently. Didnt think the bucket list lived up to expectations with Freeman and nicholson to play with.

DO not watch under any circumstances the following ;   Vacancy
                                                                             The condemed
                                                                              Urban Justice

I quite liked the nanny diaries and i wanna marry the actress.

When I take my kids to the cinema I have to create a distraction every time we walk past the pic and mix..as I know I will be £20 lighter if I dare stop

Eldest one habitually chooses the huge and HEAVY gobstoppers and you can see the sales assistants eyes light up as we approach the weighing machine..its as if he/she is on commission!

Last distraction I created involved a "lost" ticket, a frantic search and eventual finding said ticket in exactly the place the kids said it was, after a 90 second delay. Having passed the sweet shop.

Success.

PS I love you, by the way.....try and catch Mark Kermode's podcast review of it..hilarious..he lost the will to live!!

easy way to avoid the pix and mix at the cinema is break your back

my local cinema can only let me in via the firedoors and only 1 of the 2 screens

means i get away without paying an arm and a leg for sweets

Tip: Next time you get Pick 'n' Mix at the Cinema, weigh the bag first, that costs the price of a few Chocolate Brazil Nuts itself!

Just watched the trailer and oh my god what a great oportunity for your girlfriend/wife to say "why can't you do somthing nice and die like the guy in the film did".

My idea of romance is to spend valentines day at DTD and let her come along so she can earn me a bit of money.

Behave you mugs .... a chick flick once in a while easily compensates for the rewards such chivalrous action receives ... both single ??

Seen this - didn't enjoy it immensely .

I went to see Juno the other day and it was highly enjoyable - and Definitely, Maybe was surprisingly good.

New PB for the Pic 'n' Mix tonight I believe - £4.38!

Took my daughter to see Juno today, we got pick'n'mix, normally she goes for popcorn but the queue was too big and we were late. Anyway as we are going through to give the guy the tickets she turns to me and says pick n mix is much nicer than cocporn dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She couldnt understand what me and kirsty found so amusing!!!

As for the film..... seen better, warning of mild sweraing and sex scenes etc, no warning that i would have to watch it with a cinema full of foul mouthed 14 yeard olds... sigh.

Ha ha, no the missus went with my sister. The last film she got to pick was The Bodyguard, best kip I'd had for ages  ;sleep;
