Title: Battrick OD 08/02
Post by: Bongo on February 08, 2008, 12:54:37 PM
How's everyone getting on?

End of Over 38: 113-8, runrate=2.97

I'm bowling, so doing OK... uneven pitch though so hope it's not like last weeks game where I almost manage to lose.

Foot has 1 over left to claim his 2nd 5 wicket haul of the week...

39.2 W Foot to Croft
Croft has battled with the fates, but the Sword of Damocles falls and Croft contemplates the long, lonely, walk back to the pavilion.

Sweet!

I'm up against the bot who beat me by one run in my sickest game ever last season.  Looks like being a different story today as I've just bowled them out for 160.

End of Over 1: 1-2, runrate=1.00, reqrunrate=3.27 (160-10)
Murray 1-0-1-2
Harris* 1 (2 balls)
Tau 0 (1 balls)

End of Over 43: 124-10, runrate=2.88

124 to chase down... I thought a similar total would be a piece of cake last week, hope it goes smoother this week!

Closing in on a ten wicketer too, and this against last season's third place finishers - who beat me in the corresponding fixture last time around. Bwaw-HA-HAH!

I'm making heavy weather of chasing down this target.

End of Over 23: 102-3, runrate=4.43, reqrunrate=2.19 (160-10)
Elliot 5-0-31-0
Capp* 6 (5 balls)
Tau 48 (70 balls)

Last Wicket: Harris b. Grady 44 (FOW: 94/3)

End of Over 19: 95-3, runrate=5.00, reqrunrate=0.97 (124-10)

I'm doing OK, just lost Clarke, but Disley and Glazier are still in and both superb+ bats so should be ok.

After them I have 2 more bats then the tail, so should be able to knock off 30!

I posted 294-6

Oppo 65-1 after 13 overs.

Could be a close one.

And that's the end of the match. Bigglesthwaite CC won by 7 wickets.
Fat Fighters   124-10
Bigglesthwaite CC   125-3

Lost to him twice last season, was determined to win this time :)up

3 strongs in the reporters' summary.

And it's time to expand my ground again!

86-2 after 18.

His best two batsmen have been and gone, I may allow my self a hint of confidence.

I eventually got there with 6 wickets in hand.

Now to find that destructive fast bowler that I'm badly needing.

3 strongs in the reporters' summary.

And it's time to expand my ground again!

cant get a rating in reporters summary over mediocre - still 4 wins from 4 in both leagues keeps 100% record at start of season :) and having expanded my ground at the end of the end of last season with the perfect start and the additions of plenty more members in the last 4 weeks means i should get a full house for next weeks one day game (and hopefully i can drag my FC game against a bot out to a third day for a good week financially too!)

I got my first ever crowd over 20,000 today.  The joys of an easy start to the season :)

Won by 8 wickets. Put my worse players out too. 2 of which I was going to sack. 1 took 3 wickets, the other scored 80...lol

I played a total and utter super-BOT today.. players with ratings over 30k and average above 20k meant a tough game

bowled 1st as I wanted to, but didn't go to plan...

they were 209-2 in the 39th over, bowled them out in the 46th over for 241

in reply I was 44-2 having lost an opener cheaply, as well as my star batter 1st ball. 125-4 in the 32nd over wasn't good.

with 10 overs to go I needed 78, with the 6 wickets remaining

We battled through, and ended up needing 6 off the last over, however he had a 25k rated F bowler and conceded just the 4

I lose by 1 run

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppppp

Absolutely crazy day today as I played a guy who's still very active but seems to have some sort of death wish regarding his squad!  Check out CRSM and see what I mean!  :dontask:

Anyway knocked up a "mere" 418-1 before bowling them out for 31 ensuring victory by 387 runs!   rotflmfao

An opening partnership of 273 with one opener scoring 217* meant a several records were set today that I doubt will ever be beaten!

Oh and the big win means I'm top of my div V now!   :)up

I know my true worth is sixth place maximum but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!  Great for club morale too!  ;D

I saw him post in sledging, he figured he was going to lose all season so sold his best players, banked the cash, bought some trainees and junk players and had a laugh! ;)

I got my first ever crowd over 20,000 today.  The joys of an easy start to the season :)

23,500 or so here :) Now have capacity of 25,196 I think so looks about right as members are joyous already :)

22355, just a few under capacity, would have been full if I hadn't lost in the cup methinks!

Members' OTM now though, and hoping for a loss free season from here onwards!

I'm on the way up, nearing 1000 members and just expanding to a 16k stadium. The 265k of stadium income means a net profit of 190k every 2 weeks b4 the expansion. so hopefully mid season will be getting some new awesome players :)

You need to keep winning to keep the stadium full though!

Title: Re: Battrick OD 08/02

indeed.. i've gone for the slightly pessimistic view ( according to the stadium calc) as in 8 FC games this year I have in effect no chance of winning. but we'll see ;)

losing a game like today's by 1 run don't help matters

Memory playing tricks on me, it was a shade over 23k now I've checked, bit weird actually

Attendance: 23072
Standing: 9656
Uncovered Seats: 10069
Covered Seats: 2386
Members area: 961

Uncovered seats sold out but standing 1.7k short???? I suppose it was partially cloudy but still weird.

The attendance is slightly random too, think it was tweaked last season so the "perfect" ratio was no longer 100%.

Lol, thats not a super bot team!! Next week i play a bot who has a 182k player with several over 30 & 40k - games against him were ok up til half way thru last season - he went from played 7 lost 7 at mid point to played 14 won 7 lost 7 at end of season, he may actually win promotion from our division - makes sense  :dontask:

The solution to that problem is so simple i'm amazed they haven't implemented it.

When a team goes bot, list all players on the market and give them a new starting squad (although that could be unfair to league mates, so maybe do it at the end of the season).

Bots would still sink, but they wouldn't be soundly beaten by rubbish players in the bottom div every week (bowlers scoring 500+no!).

Indeed, after a few seasons like this one ( where I'm looking at holding on to 5th/6th in OD and anything higher than 4th in FC will require acts of god) I'll be in the same boat!

Drawing tough leagues have stunted my progress as well (a couple of poor strategical decisions haven't helped either).  Particularly, having tough starts to the campaign and the knock on effects on morale etc.  Thankfully I've had an easier start this season although the tough games are around the corner.
