Kings against Charles Denton's Jacks. Jack on the river. Pete raised Turk's blind with Js Qc apparently but I arrived at the end (standard) with a board of:
2h Kh Qd 5s 7c and a tall stack of 5k's in front of Mad Turk effectively putting Pete all in for his remaining 17,000. Pete is thinking and Mad Turk is doing a play act to infer that Pete is passing and Turk readying to muck his cards. Pete makes the call though and Turk turns over "Ace high" to allow Pete an early double up to around 48,000. THEN it sinks in for Turk and goes off on blabbing "Ha, YOU raised with big blind with JQ eh?" "IS that what you did?" "Keep doing that!" Pete cooly just replies on a loop "Good I want you on tilt!" "Carry On" Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 03:33:09 PM Luke Vinnicombe is OUT. Ahrt 6d vs Tim Blake's Qs Qh.
Also gone are Zachery Ford, Andrew Probyn and Tony Cascarino. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 04:01:07 PM Pete Linton raises to 3,200 from the cutoff, a giggling Daniel Rudd passes on the button, cheeky chappie Tony Phillips repops it to 9,600 from the small blind, before Graham Clarkson makes it 27,200 from the big blind. Back to Pete, with a world of agony on his shoulders. "So sick, and I knew I had you beat, you fish," gesturing at a grinning Phillips.
He passes, Phillips passes too saying back to Pete, "No, I had you beat." "I had Queens," says a slightly exasperated Linton. "Ok, you had me beat," concedes Philips who says he had A-Q. Clarkson says he had Aces, but should he have just flat-called the re-raise? P Charalambous has doubled through Nick Gibson with K-9 vs 4-4. He didn't pair but managed to 4-flush the king. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 04:20:32 PM Craig Metcalf doubles up with Fives against Marc Goodwin's Ace Jack.
This left Mr Cool short and he pushed with 7d 6d in late position soon after, a short stacked Trevor Reardon from the small blind pushed behind with Qs Qc and Andrew Psaras called from the big blind with Ad Jh. Board: 6c 5s 5c 6h 3s Big Trev trebles up and Goodwin hits 3 pair. And is out, as Psaras takes the side pot. Shortly afterwards Matt Tyler moves his short stack in from late position with 54off but Big Trev finds Tens this time to knock him out. I missed this board as I was watching Neil Channing call Edward Morgan's all-in, finding himself in good shape with Kd Qc against Ks 6s. 7c 5h 5d.... "Peppering the area..." observes Channing. 7h "Maaaarvellous..." Qd "What a cruel game this is..." Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 04:37:42 PM Peter Charalambos just knocked out short stack G Stafford with AQ v QK.
........................................... Just heard about a lovely story from Roberto Romanello regarding the chap he is railing Jamie Gubb. One fine day, Jamie (also from Swansea) had $40 and fancied a shot at letting Roberto spin it up for him in a cash game. He laddered up from $1/2 to $2/4 to $5/10 building along the way all the way to $1,600. They took out $1k and Roberto carried on with the $600 to spin it up again to $1,600. This time he took $1k to play a heads up match with and told Jamie if he built it up he could play in a GUKPT for a 50/50 split. Build up he did and here they are - Jamie still in and looking good on around 60,000. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 04:49:18 PM UpTheMariners Daniel Rudd has doubled through Mad Turk with 7-6 against A-K.

He is currently on about 90,000 after in his own words "I have been an absolute card rack today and hit every flop that I had raised!" Wahoooo for some honesty rather than "I played every hand awesomely and deserved every chip I accumulated!"
...................................... Celtic was painfully low just now with only 13,000. Sitting in the big blind I happen to (accidently ;) ) see he had JJ. There was a raise to 3,200 (blinds 800,1600) from early position. Passed round to Vince, he went all in for a further 9,000 to Darren (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=134) Hickman (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=134). Again he didn't wanna make the call even though he plenty of chips behind. He called then we saw why he was reluctant to call: Vince Js Jc Hickman 7d 8d Celtic's Jacks held up and given a lifeline to 26,000. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 05:56:11 PM Nik Persaud has doubled up with Aspades 2c against Luke Patten's Ad 9h. Nik pushed from the cut-off and Luke moved in behind him.
Board: Qs Jc 4s 3d 2h "What a player..." says Jerome. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 05:58:12 PM There has been one or two changes since the list was acquired but Trevor Reardon has just doubled up to 75,000. Matey raised preflop with AK and Trevor reraised all in . Niall Charlton made the call with AK leaving himself around 15,000. The board came Q high and Trevor says "phew."
........................................... Tim Blake (T8MML) is now upto around 120,000 and wants me to tell his kids that he is doing great and they will be able to eat tomorrow! Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 06:17:24 PM Peter Charalambos starting the day on with on 23,000 is on 155,000. He was just in a pot with Nick Gibson who bet 29,000 on the river of a board like:
8s Qh Ad Kc 2s Peter called and Gibson insta says "Its yours!" Charalambos scoops with his Ahrt Ks. ............................................... Vince Callenti (Celtic) has just gone OUT, no details. ................................................. Pete Linton is only on about 26,000. He just lost a small chunk pushing on a short stack with KJ but was out kicked with KQ. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 06:31:25 PM Terrence Owens just got a big double up against Craig Metcalf with the classic Queens vs Ace King. Craig had the clock called on him and only made the call at the last moment.
UpTheMariners has just 30k after Graham Clarkson called the 9k extra c/raise on a 6c 4s 4h 8h before both checked the blank river, Graham's A-K high ahead of UTM's Ahrt 3h. Rupert Elder, who probably hasn't had the best day so far, has just almost doubled his back over 100k after eliminating Alastair Findlay with Sixes against Ace Jack Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 06:34:09 PM Jeff Kimber looks to be the chip leader now, though he was telling me the the machine where you can play HU vs the computer is rigged, though Skalie claims you could easily make money playing it. Jeff lost out when he had A-3 on an A-2-2-T-4 board, only to find the computer had 4-4 to take all his cash. Tim Blake had a go and was all-in with 7-5 on a 6-4-x flop, the computer had 9-3 and nine high was good...
Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 06:35:53 PM Sorry to keep mentioning Pete Linton but he really is in the thick of it most rounds. It seams every time I pass he is all in! Last time I went by he was down to 26k, now he is on nearly 60,000 after a made rush all in one round. He found AA utg but everyone passed, then he had QQ in the cutoff and same outcome - no customers. Then AA again and it was Simon Zach who tried to spank Pete's madness with 10 5, so a nice double AGAIN for Mr Linton.

Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 07:07:04 PM Mad Turk is OUT. 9s 9h, no match for Andrew Psaras' Ad Jd.
Rupert has lost a 90k pot getting it in with Ks Kc on a 9d 4h 6d board against Dharminder Buttar who check/raised all-in with 7c 6c and hit the 7s turn. Jh was no help for Rupert as the pot slipped through his grasp... ;hide; Soon after Buttar was cutting through Nick Gibson like a hot knife, Nick had apparently shoved with 3-2, called by Buttar's 7-7 with a predictable result. Luke Patten has recovered a few chips from Jamie Gubb. They see a 4s Kd Ahrt flop where Patten check/calls a 6k bet, both check the Kh turn before Patten fires out 12k on the river to take it down. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 07:07:58 PM Daniel Rudd is OUT. King Ten short-stack shove but running into Tens.

Board: Qc 6s Td Qs Tc Simon sat in a stunned silence for a moment having lost such a big pot as the chips were sent over to his opponent, before he realised what had happened and shock hands with his conqueror and wished the table good luck. Asy Ho was just knocked out by Charles Denton in SB BB action. Asy was ahead with A4 but Charles's JQ pipped him with a Q on the flop. 28 left! Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 09:11:23 PM James Morgan is OUT. But he's not the bubble! In a major bugger-up, they've miscounted the players left and just broken one table only to have to move all the original players back. So we're still hand for hand. Fortunately, no hands were played before it was realised that there were 28 left, but whoever goes out now is going to be extra gutted.
;noflopshomer; ;noflopshomer; ;oopsy; ;oopsy; :blonde: :blonde: James Morgan's hand incidentally was Ac Kc vs Nik Persaud's Kd Kh with a major sweat for the Londoner against the Scouser as the board came down 7c Tc 6s 7d Js. Nik Persaud is on 225k now and not too far behind Jeff Kimber. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 09:28:23 PM Well that wasn't too long a bubble - this time it HAS burst.
Graham Clarkson raised to 11k from late position, on to Maurice McCarthy in the blinds who reraised to 40k. Clarkson said all in (150k stack), McCarthy said call quicksmart. At this crucial stage: Maurice McCarthy Ad Qh Graham Clarkson 9s 9h No help for Maurice McCarthy on the board, just a 9 on the river instead to compound his position as official bubble boy. Here is what the last 27 are now playing for: 1st -- £83,910 2nd -- £48,790 3rd -- £35,160 4th -- £23,680 5th -- £17,940 6th -- £14,350 7th -- £11,480 8th -- £8,610 9th -- £6,460 10th -- £4,300 11th to 13th -- £2,870 14th to 18th -- £2,150 19th to 27th -- £1,440 Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 09:47:06 PM Worse news for Maurice McCarthy, as he was leaving the casino, he just had his car driven into...
Exit time. Ray Wyre was out in 27th when his A-8 lost to Womble's 6-6. Rupert Elder went out in 26th, Jeff Kimber had raised I believe, with Ace Queen, Rupert pushed with Eights, and Scott Edwards pushed behind with Aces. A Aspades Jd Kc Ts 3d board later and Rupert was heading for the rail. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 09:53:39 PM Tim Blake doubles and a bit more in a 3 way pot. Pete Linton makes a raise preflop, Tim calls & so does Scott Edwards in the big blind. The flop comes:
Ac Kh 5h Pete makes a continuation bet of 18.5k, next door Tim Blake goes all in for a further 79,000. Scott just makes the call and Pete gets out the way, on their backs: Tim Blake Th Jh Scott Edwards Ad Kd Turn: Qs River: 6d Nice pot to Tim (200k) and it just goes to show what happens when you don't reraise and see a 3 way pot with AK! Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 10:08:40 PM Paul McIntyre was all-in with Jd Js vs Mick McCool's Kd 7d on a Qd 4d 6h board, but with the turn and river coming 5h and 6d, he departs in 25th place.
Just after that, Womble was all-in with Eights against Luke Patten's Jacks. No help on the board, and Womble is out too. 23 remain. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 10:22:03 PM Luke Pattern has had a rollercoaster last level. He went down to about 20k after a race with 5's against KQ, then built up with a few timely all ins to around 70,000. Then he raised preflop with 99 only to be reraised all in by Mick Fletcher, Luke made the call and equal in chips Fletcher turned over AJ.
The board came sadly for Luke with a J on it but then utter joy with a 9 on the river! So Mick Fletcher is OUT and Luke now on around 140,000. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 10:41:24 PM On a 7h 4h 8c board, Scott Edwards bets 18k, Tim Blake check/raises to 40k and Scott moves in for 27k, Tim is forced to call the rest to find his Qd 8s behind Scott's 9c 9h. The board bricks out and Scott doubles up.
(http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=9182&g2_serialNumber=1) Over on the other table, Graham Clarkson is facing a dilemma, he's raised it up and Charles Denton has moved all-in. Graham assumes the 'agonized' position that poker players tend to have when they think they're behind but know they probably have to call. It's the last hand before the break though so Graham has as much time as he wants whilst some of the more disinterested players float away to the oasis that is the bar area. Graham makes the call with 9c 9s whilst Charles shows Kd 9h The first card out is the Ks, and a Charlie-fan pumps his fist, the Jh Td comes next giving the Scot a glimmer of hope, which the 7c adds to. The blank 3d dashes all hope though and Denton doubles up. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 10:58:19 PM Neil Channing pushed all in for about 60,000 in middle position, he was insta called by Peter Charalambos hiding in the big blind with 8h 8d. Clearly Neil wished he just was able to pick up the blinds and ante's as his 5d 6h was in trouble. He nearly made it too with a board of:
Kd 4s 3h 6c 4d but Neil Channing is OUT in 22nd place and Peter has a much nicer 140k stack. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 11:00:35 PM A few minutes before Neil Channings exit:

Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 16, 2008, 11:31:13 PM Luke Patten doubles up Roberto's havles - Jamie Gubb to about 110,000. On a flop of
Qd Th 5c Luke bets out 30k and and Jamie goes all in. Its not masses more for Luke to call so he does with 5's, Jamie's KK though stand up and Luke takes a little dent. THEN.............................................. I get called over to another table and find Aces played cutely and getting absolutely full on 100% reward. Peter Charalambous with the bullets makes a small 14k raise preflop and finds a wonderous reraise to 42k from Andew Psaras. Peter smooth calls and the flop comes: 8c 4s 2s Psaras decides that the flop suits him and not Peter and goes all for a massive amount. Pete calls and Psaras turns over Aspades 2h, he doesn't improve and instead goes OUT on 20th place. Peter now must be well over 300,000. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 16, 2008, 11:34:00 PM Pete Linton bets out 24.4k on a Th Js 7h board, Jeff Kimber moves in and Pete calls.

Charles made the called the xtra and we saw:
Woodsey Qd Td Denton Kd Jd Board: 3h Th 5c 6s Jc and an unlucky river for Woodsey who goes OUT in 16th place. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 17, 2008, 12:11:35 AM Falling thick and fast now, another exit. Aaron Berry woke up with Aces against McCool's KQ. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: Chili on February 17, 2008, 12:22:37 AM ACTION!!!! Bad news for Tim Blake fans. Tim makes it 30,000 preflop with Jd Jh, Aaron Berry reraises all in for over 100,000 more. Tim calls and is shown his 2nd worst nightmare - Kd Kc. The Kings stand up and Tim is left with an absolute bowl of rice so is all in next hand with Q 5 v 10 3, a 3 is spiked sadly to send Tim Blake OUT in 14th.

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, here's one to get your heads around. Dharminder Buttar button raises and Graham Clarkson says, "Call." But Buttar thinks he's said fold and turns over pocket Eights. A ruling is called for, and it's decided the hand can continue but, Buttar can only call from now on. Qh 7s 5d Graham bets 19k and Dharminder calls. 9d Graham now moves all-in and Dharminder quickly calls with the Eights. Graham flips Kd Qc but the river is the 6d. Graham sees it first and shouts, "Straight!" in pure disbelief, then shoves all his chips towards Buttar before leaving the table. Nik Persaud says, "I've not seen such magic since I went to see David Blaine...Other people know exactly what you have and yet you still win the pot!" Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 17, 2008, 12:32:49 AM Hot on the heels of Graham Clarkson's exit is that of Scott Edwards.
Jeff Kimber raises to 25k, Edwards calls. The flop came out 8-4-3, Jeff bet 50k and Scott moved in for little more, Jeff called with Jacks and Scott showed 10's. No help on the board and Scott is gone in 12th. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Day 2 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 17, 2008, 01:52:37 AM Incredibly cagey now. Jamie Gubb is probably the shortest but still with about 160k whilst Craig Metcalf has a similar amount on the other table. Not many flops being seen, or many re-raises either, we did have one of the latter when Peter Charambolous raised UTG for 35k, before Dharminder Buttar made it 102k which quickly elicited a fold. But other than that, any raise is usually enough to take the blinds down, whilst in a rare case of a flop, caution is the name of the game and it looks as though 10 players will be returning tomorrow.
