Quote Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne has been detained under the Mental Health Act following an incident at a hotel in Newcastle. Northumbria Police said a 40-year-old man was detained following a report of disorderly behaviour at the Malmaison Hotel early on Wednesday. Officers later visited Mr Gascoigne at Gateshead's Hilton Hotel after concerns were raised about his behaviour. Police said he was not in custody and was now receiving medical treatment. :o Title: Re: Gazza Post by: boldie on February 21, 2008, 01:54:43 PM it's a shame he can't get his life together.
Title: Re: Gazza Post by: Graham C on February 21, 2008, 01:57:37 PM Heard about this too. It's think fair to say that's he's always been on the brink of insanity, unstable at the least, but it's a real shame he can't sort himself out.
Title: Re: Gazza Post by: Bazzaboy on February 21, 2008, 02:05:14 PM He has been needing help for a long time. Hopefully he gets it.

but i don't see wot the problem is all about people from newcastle think they will win the league or a cup one day but they dont lock them up Title: Re: Gazza Post by: Rooky9 on February 22, 2008, 07:19:16 PM Met Gazza before in a bar I used to work in. He never touched a drop of alcohol all night but he looked and spoke like he was pissed. He was getting through some red bull which didn't really mean anything to me until I read his autobiography last year.
I hope he gets his life together but it'll be hard. I can't imagine having to put so much effort in just to not do something like drink alcohol, red bull or take pain killers with the knowledge that if you do then you'll be addicted. Was he addicted to redbull?...I got the impression when he was at his prime he had a personality disorder witness his post FA Cup semi interview in 1991 Title: Re: Gazza Post by: Rooky9 on February 22, 2008, 08:16:45 PM Met Gazza before in a bar I used to work in. He also got addicted to working out in a gym and had an eating disorder. Loads of problems. He has always been a bit energetic but if you abuse your body for a long period of time something will give in the end, seems to have been his head. He has always been a bit energetic but if you abuse your body for a long period of time something will give in the end, seems to have been his head. Truth is- I think he has always been a bit mentally unstable-if you read his autobiography there are so many stories of madcap things- like drivin a car off the wee pier at duck bay marina- but as he was such a talented and well known footballer these kinda things were just put down to high jinks ( I also think this goes to show that footballers really can get away with anything) I just hope he can get better...he loves football more than anything & although his body doesnt allow it he still craves it like an addict, and one of his main problems is addiction! I just hope he can get through his personal problems and get back into the game in a coaching capacity- hopefully that would be enough for him Get well soon Gazza!!!
