Title: Any Techies on here????PC problem Post by: BlueWolf on October 31, 2005, 05:17:18 PM ok i'm pretty good with a pc but this has got me sumped so if anyone here can help i'll be eternally gratefull and beer at the blonde bash will be on me lol
When i came home from work last night i discovered that the shared pc i'm using had crashed, so i duly rebooted and discovered that it now takes 20 minutes plus to reboot (its not a slow machine) and when windows does eventually load theres no sign of my taskbar or desktop. I can open task manager and discover explorer.exe is chomping 50% of my cpu but cant do anything else. From task manager you can press the "new task" button down the bottom in the applications tab. type msconfig in the box that appears and press enter. Sounds nasty whatever it is .. that's a good couple of hours under the bonnet <intake of breath>.
