Now I readily admit to being a bit of a nerd..In fact I'm quite proud of it. I am also easily distracted by shiny gadgets that I never knew existed...I am also about 3 years (or 6 months, it's all the same really) behind the times as everybody else.

We (The Mrs and Myself) bought a car the other week..a nice and shiny one...very cool.
With that comes a problem though as I have a 6 CD changer player (No idea what they are really called) in the boot...I have no use for that as it implies I would ever open the boot just to change some CDs. Now, I have an I-pod and this holds most of my, admittedly dodgy, music...so I thought "surely by now they have invented a car stereo that allows you to play your I-pod on it.

Of course they have...they probably invented it years ago BUT I only thought of it this afternoon..so it was a revelation for me when I saw them online for about 50-60£ (130 £ and you get a telly with satnav and everything...mental, isn't it?)

then one of the companies riggers walked into the office and when he heard I was looking for that he said..No you need to get this "pluggie in thing" (official name I think) that..erm plugs into your cigarette lighter (we bought an old car so I still have one of those..do new cars even come with a cigarette lighter?..or is that against the law these days?) and into your I-pod and then you can play the i-pod over your stereo.

HOW COOL IS THAT?? It turns your I-pod into a mini radio station so you can listen to it on your car radio! You also don't need to buy a new car stereo system...

How clever was the fella that invented this, eh?

I know you probably all know this stuff existed but I'm very excited about this..and I'm getting one tonight (Mrsboldie will kindly allow me to purchase one ..though it will probably come out of my pocket money)!

lol..I know...I am WAY behind the times..I got my first PC a few years after everybody else..and when everybody had floppy disks I only just got the MSX1 with tapes. Hell, I still don't know how to get ring tones on my phone..and ussually have to ask the Mrs if I want anything changed on it.

It seems I'm on the same train as Boldie - heading slowly into the new millenium.
(I only really learnt what an i-Pod is when the kids got me one for my birthday)!!

But the beauty of it is I've still got lots of things to look forward to discovering.

They were making FM transmitters for aftermarket CD changers at least 10 years ago, and the first Ipod one (called the ITrip) came out around May 2003. So, errr, 5 years behind :).

And yes, they were illegal in the UK as they were legally in the same class as a pirate radio station. That changed in December 06 when the PTB finally caught up with the technology and decided that a transmitter with a 10' range wasn't actually harming anyone...

It was in Southend one night, he had busted out of the comp early (standard) and we were dossing around , when the old man decides to get a pack of cards and some chips and challenge me to some heads up action ... I promptly schooled him at texas, but then he changed tack and decided he had more chance of beating me at Omaha hi/lo ... he did beat me ... BUT HE CHEATED, I had hardly ever played Hi/Low at that time and he managed to convince me that his low of A3 beat my low of 25 on a board  Tc  8h Ahrt 4c 7c  !! he did admit it afterwards but wouldnt allow me to claim the victory as I should have spotted it at the time ... my protests that I did and he talked me out of it were met with a grandad chuckle :D

I am sure he will deny it or claim that he cant remember, but it was 2 years ago and i wont forget

I think he cheated against Moses as well.
