Title: O/T Interview the person below you
Post by: TightEnd on November 01, 2005, 01:06:56 PM
Here's how it works,

You ask two questions, the person who posts next answers them and posts two questions of their own, and so on....

So to begin then

1. Do you think No limit Hold Em will still be the poker game of choice for the masses in five years time?

2. If you didn't play online poker, what would you most likely do instead?

two nice easy ones to start....over to you...

1. Yes, minutes to learn a lifetime to master. No other game lets noobies stand a chance against so called 'pros'.
2. Playing Xbox. even though I'm thirty.

1. I have recently read Harrington book 1 and can honestly say I knew 90% of it already. Do you find this when you read new poker books or do you still gain something by reading them? (small addition - I'm not saying that extra 10% of knowledge wasn't worth it!)

2. Do poker forums hold the future to how the game will develop rather than books that become dated?

Title: Re: O/T Interview the person below you

1. I find I learn something from all of them, whether it's 10% or 50% of the book being new, it's time well spent. Personally Harrington provided more for me

2. There's room for both, but forums give the immediacy and sense of community that no book can

Next two

1. Do you remember what life was like before blonde?

2. Do you remember how you first discovered blonde?

two more questions, as Red forgot I think

1. Can the trend towards global warming be reversed?

2. Name someone in the world stupider than George Bush?

Title: Re: O/T Interview the person below you

theres good arguments to suggest global warming happens anyway, with or without us. this time we are contributing to it but it's happened before and it'll happen again after we're gone. we may well be preventing another Ice age with our actions.

George Bush Snr.

1) what's the thing you'd most like to be remembered for?

2) What do you hope everyone forgets about you

1. Will non hold em tournies die in live festivals?

No, perhaps the present skilled set will move to those to keep competition "cleaner" while the new set grow into their NLHE game, and then the new set will evolve into those as well. People will always want to try new things.

2. and is that a bad thing?

If it did happen? Not for me - my 7card stud isn't the most solid of things<g> The card playing fraternity would never let it them die out, the community is big enough that tehre will always be people playing a multitude of different games.

My Two Questions

1. What shall I have for dinner.

2. Has anyone been to the casinos in North Cyprus? How were they?

(1) This is such a tough question to answer. I think it's very possible that some of the famous names who've won a couple of big comps have just a nice run of cards. Let's see how many they've won in 5 years time, then we can say how good they are.

Having said that though, I think ring games are different, but these are the games we don't see much of. All those hands and no worries of 1 unlucky hand forcing you off the table. You get a bad beat, refill, and carry on playing.

To answer the question, I've gone for someone who is much celebrated, but, in my view, nothing special, just a lucky so and so. Obviously I could be wrong and find out that he is in fact a big earner in the cash games, but I don't know.

Anyhow, I'd go for:

-- Scotty Nguyen --

(2) I'd echo my thoughts above by going for...

-- Chip Reese --

Consitently wins in cash games year after year, but because we never see him in big multis, no one really mentions him.

My questions:

(Boy, do I hope no1's posted be4 I've completed all this  :o)

Actually, I'll post this and do my questions separately so no1 gets in be4 me.

(1) If a winning poker player is causing bankruptcy and depression in opponents by hunting them down, outplaying them, and encouraging them to refill, does that make him a bad person and his actions immorale?

(2) Should a professional gambler be made to pay taxes so as to contribute to society?

Title: Re: O/T Interview the person below you
Post by: divaflava on November 01, 2005, 10:19:10 PM
1. No. But I wouldn't want to go for a drink with them too often.

2. Yes. If you declare yourself a professional, you should be required to pay yourself a fixed salary (suggest national average) and contribute to society from that salary. You should then get yourself a good accountant to insure any profits above this figure are invested in accordance with the law of the land (and to obtain maximum tax relief). It's what any freelancer does.

1. What's your first thought when you see trash UTG on a weak table?

2. What puts the 'trash' into 'trash talk' ?

1) Who do you most wanna buy a beer?

Anyone. I'm not fussy if they are buying

2) Which poker player would you not want to be seated next to and why?

Julian Thew. Rude, bad tempered, arrogant and generally obnoxious. And he smells of poo too.

1. Do you think there should be a better prize for WSOP winners than a bracelet? They are a bit girlie.

2. Ever danced round the room naked after outdrawing a scandie in a big pot online?

1) I would buy Gus Hansen a beer and get him to tell me what goes through his head during most hands that he plays

2) In the final of major tournemant (yeah dream on) i would hate to be sat next to my Uncle Peter Costa!  Reason being he is not quite at the table at the best of times and he would not resist telling people stories of how he used pinch me when i was a kid and what a naughty child i was!!  Also I would hate to have to knock out a family member  ;D

2) No. I feel incomplete. Although I have in my boxers many times. To me a big pot is a few bucks in Hold'em and a few cents in Omaha. I dance cheap.
