The $10,000 Wynn Classic main event just finished day 3.

27 players returned at the start of day 3 and 9 players finished the day.

18 players made the money and when they were on the bubble instead of going hand-for-hand they went round-for-round.

When the bubble started any players knocked out in this same round of the bubble bursting all chop the places they are knocked out in.

Never heard of this before is this the future of the bubble.

What do people think is this a good way to go.

They did this in the WSOP main event when i played in 2006 and i have a feeling they may have done it in some of the larger runner side events. I think it's a great idea as it really speeds the game up and stops most of the stalling tactics of the short stacks.

Hmmmmmmm, not sure I like it. The bubble is often where the winner is realised, stealing pot after pot from those that really want to cash, this is just like a saver deal (but with the money taken from the last person to cash).

The bubble is one of the most interesting parts, bad idea for me.

Yes  I don't really understand what it's about- it surely has bizarre implications in a small event as when the bubble player goes out, there is effectively another bubble till the round finishes.  Surely it will just make the stalling happen earlier in bigger events?

I don't really see the benefit of it to be honest. hand for hand and chipstacks (if 2 go out at the same time shortest loses) sounds like the way it should be to me.

Yeah - if the bubble bursts on the first hand at one of the tables, then there is effectively an even greater bubble till the end of the round. Under normal hand-for-hand, shortish stacks will play tight and wait for someone to go out, but that may not be enough as the very shortest stacks may double up and overtake them.

However, with round for round, if the bubble bursts on the first hand, folding the next nine hands will guarantee the current short stack some money - he's not going to play a single hand.

Well i thought part of the point of it was that no one actually knows when the bubble has burst short stacks can't be running between tables looking to see who has busted as play continues on their table at a normal pace. During the first round for round at the bubble stage of the 2006 WSOP not enough people busted so we had to go round for round again. It certainly led to a smooth and quick progression to the money stages.

However i can see now this is probably only helpful in very large events where the bubble involves a large amount of tables, it's not going to be so useful and will hinder the bubble play of the big stacks in  a 3 or 4 table affair.

yeah, think this lessens a good bubble players edge.

I think its a good thing as a 5 minute dwell on 1 table then a 5 minute dwell on the other table now means only a 5 min wait not a 10 min wait.
