Title: HU poker with a twist...... Post by: Royal Flush on November 02, 2005, 08:00:21 AM OK so i got a bit bored earlier myself and the feline like 1 (panther2003.blogspot.com) decided to adapt the NLHE HU rules.
Basically we played HU whoever won got to add a new rule, untill we had 7 rules. We came up with. TT JJ 22 74 T2 all in, yo have no option, these are the only hands you can raise all in with pre flop, and you have to do so, you also have to call all in. Any 2, you have to raise 2x the blind, unless its already been raised. AAKKQQ55 you can only min raise/bet on every streeet!!!! if u have a 6 in your hand u have to raise to 400 preflop then fold to any flop bet of 152 or more, but u can play turn and river. If you are in first position you can of course bet the flop, but be wary of the raise as u have to pass! This takes priority over the 2 rule, so 62 is a raise to 400. 2 face cards, u have to raise exactly half your stack then u can only bet flop but not turn or river if you have AK AQ AJ AT you have to fold to a pre flop raise If you have AA you have to declare so in the chat, however you are allowed to do this with any hand!! Give it a go, we were useing 2000 chips and blinds of 20-40 as found on tribeca, it makes for some goo strategic thinking. Title: Re: HU poker with a twist...... Speaking of strange Heads Up - I was looking for a heads up tourney and found one on Stars Last night. Yes it was Omaha Hi/Lo but as I am learning that game, I decided to give it a bash. First hand I hit the flop in a BIG way - I had the nut high and was drawing to the nut low. The guy bet into me and I went to raise, but to my disapointment, I could only double his bet! Yep, it was not only Omaha Hi/Lo, but it was LIMIT as well!!!! LOLOL - managed to survive into the 3rd level before boredom set in and I lost it before the money. Title: Re: HU poker with a twist...... Post by: Royal Flush on November 02, 2005, 11:09:55 AM Just checked my account, i ended up winning 24 games to 23.
My opponent was tricky and i had to keep him guessing, he cottoned onto my raising half my stack with suboptimal holdings to give him the impression i was holding paint. He also foolishly raised with AK leaving himself 1c short, i popped it back with T2 and he had to pass, muppet! I think this game could go far and i have heard rumours that Poker Stars are writing the software for HU "MMMoker". Title: Re: HU poker with a twist...... Post by: Royal Flush on November 02, 2005, 05:25:45 PM Right....i have a MMMoker stratergy question.
Given that your opponent moves in pre flop, you know he has JJ TT 74 22 T2, so what hands do you call with?!? remember you have to fold AK AQ AJ AT. Title: Re: HU poker with a twist...... Post by: Bongo on November 02, 2005, 05:33:20 PM Poker Stove should help you out here...
