Title: Honeymooning in Vegas - Where to go?
Post by: Canuck on March 22, 2008, 08:27:18 PM
Going for my honeymoon in Vegas in early July. My fiancee does not play poker and has absolutely no desire to play. I am cool with that though and I dont plan on playing much/at all.

I am looking for good spots to go to, restaurants, shopping, good shows, things we would both probably like.

Any tips and comments are appreciated.

Oh, we have booked the Bellagio so we dont need any hotel info.

cheers
-Canuck

The Voodoo Lounge at the top of the Rio

Great food, and a fantastic view.

The gondola ride in The Venetian looked nice. Not been on it, too homophobic to ride with my bro.

There is no shortage of fantastic restaurants but try the one half way up the eiffel tower opposite the Bellagio, its excellent and also the one at the top of the Stratosphere. Enjoy !

I was less than impressed with the food in Vegas but did find a tapas place called Cafe Ba Ba Reeba which sits outside the Fashion Show Mall. The service was superb and the food was so so tasty. If you are vegetarian Vegas isn't very good at catering for you. Even the Bellagio had virtually no decent choice for vegetarians. I'd suggest you have champagne breakfast at the Bellagio just for the experience though. I stayed at the Venetian and tried a good few of the restaurants there too. I didn't go back more than once to any of them...

website for Ba Ba Reeba - www.cafebabareeba.com/vegas/

I did the helicopter ride too which is worth doing and not that expensive. I think it was just over $300 and you have a 'champagne' lunch when you land and get picked up and dropped off in a Limo.

Also, you could do some shows. You might be able to find some here - http://www.vegasview.com/shows/Default.aspx?ysmchn=GGL&ysmcpn=Shows&ysmgrp=Shows+Power+Terms&ysmcrn=&ysmtrm=Las+Vegas+Shows&ysmtac=PPC&s_kwcid=las%20vegas%20shows|561696750&gclid=CMjuyfS8pZICFQ8ZQgodcFV5Rg. You can get discount tickets if you want. I saw a place outside the fashion show mall and  if you go to downtown Vegas there is a place just up from Binnions and the Golden Nugget that has a flashing sign 'half price shows'.

If I was going and didn't want to play poker but my partner did, I would go for some spa treatments. You could book your new wife in for a few hours and try your hand at some of these tourneys....http://www.allvegaspoker.com/tournaments.php

Enjoy Vegas and enjoy married life :)

Prime in the Bellagio is fantastic. tell them your on your honeymoon and they give you a lovely dessert to share.
Any Cirque show - "O" is in your Hotel and amazing
I got married in Vegas 4 years ago and stayed same place as you - played about 3 hours of poker all week and earned massive Brownie points from the Mrs which im still cashing in lol
