blonde will be doing a full Live Update from the Main Event at Blackpool which starts at 6pm tonight. The event is sold out, 140 runners.

We have a good team on hand to assist - Mrs Doc - the lovely Claire - is on Keyboards to begin with, & I am hoping Colchester Kev is going to assist with "spotting", & answering viewers "how is so & so getting on" type questions. Then, as & when tikay & - wait for it - IRONSIDE! - exit the comp, extra help will be available. Though Ironside was telling all & sundry last night that he is going to win the comp - good luck to him! I am not sure if Maid Marion is coming along, I know she was hoping too, (and so were we!) but if she does, all the better.

The player who was a no show and just walked in the door 5 minutes later, was Simon 'Aces' Trumper. As all players have to be seated on the first deal, Simon is now unable to play.

As a bit of a joke, Bluesq Jonathon Raab asked if he could play the event, pulling seat L3 from the pile.... this went back into the pile as he's not allowed to play stating that who ever draws this seat will be the winner ...... who else could then draw this seat but the one and only TIKAY !!    Lets see if Jonathons theory works ;D

Pah, I made a bad play, & paid the bill.

Sitting comfy with 13k, Pete The Bandit makes it 1k, I make it 3k, & Rob Yong goes all-in, & Pete passes. I think Rob either has nothing at all, or maybe AK - he would never normally play AA or KK like that, he'd try & trap me. I called all-in, he had the Aces. But even if he limped pre-flop, I may have been in trouble on a flop of 6-6-7, & moved in.

But realistically, Rob's play is a RRR pre-flop, & I ought to have let my Queens go.

He finds AA, & runs into AK, very nice. Flop is an intriguing 5-5-5. Matey Boy bets, Dave sets him all-in, Matey Boy calls, eeekk, can Matey Boy have the case 5? Nope, he has AK, & Penly is gonna scoop big time. Amazingly, the case 5 falls on the turn, & it's a split pot.

Barry Neville has 6-6, & he has RR'd to 10k, Matey Boy calls with KK, & Matey Boy # 2 is giving it a major dwell, this is all pre-flop. Dealer fails to notice that there is still someone to act, & starts to deal the flop.

First card is a 6, but all hell breaks loose, as Matey Boy # 2 aint acted pre-flop yet.

Ruling is that the 6 is "burned", & poor Barry's chance of a huge double up disappears, as does a steaming Barry.....

"for a while" is clearly not very long, as he is nudging 100k now, probably about 97k.
