Title: Running into trouble in the blinds. Post by: Muso-Tim on March 25, 2008, 06:48:33 AM It seems to be blinds play that gets me into trouble. In every other position I can fold, fold, fold with total patience but in the blinds I just get a reaction to a steal. Last night I was being very good, waiting for a hand I could fire back with.
Blinds are 200/400, my stack is 4875. I get 4s 4c in the Big Blind. Folds around to button (stack 5625) who raises to 800 (for the 365th time!). I fire a re-raise to 1600 then he raises to put me all in. I call (yes, I know that one was bad) and he turns over 8h 8s and after five miss us both that's that. Any particular critique would be useful, alongside some guidance for playing the blinds. Many thanks. Title: Re: Running into trouble in the blinds. Post by: boldie on March 25, 2008, 07:24:51 AM The call is the easiest you could ever make. You can not leave yourself 8 BBs so the re-raise fold option would have been the worst play to make. why not just re-raise all in pre-flop?

Thanks for that. Title: Re: Running into trouble in the blinds. Post by: Royal Flush on March 25, 2008, 04:05:03 PM he snap calls if you shove, this is just a cold deck..
You should still shove though, giving him 3-1 and position when you have a tiny pair is foolish |
