Title: US Bank account
Post by: mjrevie on March 28, 2008, 08:27:24 AM
Hey,

I'm moving to the states for about 6 months to work for a US company. Does anyone have any tips about the best bank to go with and if you can do it before you go over? Any other advice on anything about working in the states would be hugely appreciated.

Cheers in advance

Matthew

I have a Bank of America account - always found them fine - had to go over and be there in person to open it.

I've got a CitiBank account, I think they have UK branches so you may be open one here before you leave.

I tried opening an HSBC account while in America once - even though I had an International $ account it was made very very difficult for me to open a local account - found it odd mcodd

There is a way you could open up the account from the UK before you go over, with the HSBC Premier service.
