Title: GSNPC £500 (1) Post by: Newportlad on March 30, 2008, 11:36:40 AM Level 5 Blinds 150/300
UTG: TAG Good solid player. Has approx 15K. Raises to 1200 Folds round to Hero in SB who has 13.5K. Finds Aspades Kc. Raises to 3500. Standard raise? BB: Fran. (Little Miss C). Obviouly has a hand, but after a long dwell, Passes. UTG: Asks. 'Why raise so much'. Seems a bit odd to me. Surely i've made a normal re-raise here. Anyway, he pushes all in. What do you do, and why? Title: Re: GSNPC £500 (1) Post by: booder on March 30, 2008, 11:52:23 AM call....he has JJ, take the race

Title: Re: GSNPC £500 (1) Post by: Royal Flush on March 30, 2008, 02:09:07 PM by good solid player do you mean nit?
The "why raise so much" when you haven't even tripled his bet screams AA to me. Title: Re: GSNPC £500 (1) Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on March 30, 2008, 03:13:26 PM Lol, never ever fold. Oops, just realised its 150/300. Thought it was 600/1200 :S Errr. Fold now! Title: Re: GSNPC £500 (1) Post by: littlemissC on March 30, 2008, 03:34:48 PM it was obvious the guy had JJ or QQ as he didnt want the call..he said to Newportlad i dont want you to suck out on me,i would have called as soon as he said that but im a fish, lol.
i had 88 btw and had 8k so it was all in or fold for me. Title: Re: GSNPC £500 (1) Post by: MANTIS01 on March 30, 2008, 04:22:44 PM I agree that his "why raise so much" comment is indicative of a big hand so you're not going to be in front here. 4xbb from UTG with A-A is a bit strong for me, unless the table is particularly aggressive, or that's his standard amount, so i'm inclined to think Q-Q or A-K.
Then again, if a tricky player said "I don't want you to suck out on me" it could be Aces. Anyway, he's got a big hand, so I think it's better to take your 10k and move on to the next hand. Title: Re: GSNPC £500 (1) Post by: AlexMartin on March 30, 2008, 08:08:26 PM i prefer a flat call in this situation. before you re-raise, you should have considered the possibility of him shoving.
