Machete Man Hurls Firebombs From Roof

Updated:08:18, Wednesday April 02, 2008
A man armed with a machete slashed a passer-by before hurling firebombs at cars from a New York rooftop.
Taxi was set on fire

The 21-year-old attacker set upon a 45-year-old man at a Queens subway station exit, police said.

The victim, who fended off his attacker with an umbrella, suffered cuts to his head, police said.

The attacker then fled inside a nearby two-storey building, where he went to the roof and started setting liquid-filled containers on fire and hurling them onto the street, witnesses said.

He threw at least four explosive devices, one of which struck a taxi and set it on fire. No one was injured.

Police evacuated nearby homes and sealed off the block during a one-hour standoff with the man.

Officer Robert Zajac said the ordeal ended when he told the man: "It's time to come down now," and the man complied.

The attacker, whose identity was not released, was undergoing psychiatric evaluation at a hospital.

Neighbours said they were scared for their lives while the man was chucking firebombs into the street.

ah right...so...what does stealing cars (theft implies stealing) have to do with firebombs being chucked off a roof?

Because it sounds pretty much like the normal gameplay of the game... can randomly stab /shoot people and use molotov cocktails to set cars on fire...

of course not..why would you want to go to a place where people throw firebombs and randomly stab/shoot people?

That kind of thing has been going on for years and is the reason we finally made the move to Ireland.

Final straw?  A guy who couldn't get tickets to the Woodstock reunion concert, decided he'd vent by shooting his gun randomly from a rooftop next door to us.  Never good when under cover police tell you to get the kids out of bed and hide under furniture at the other end of your apartment.  REALLY bad if your Mother-in-law happens to be staying with you at the time.

Mothers in Law were invented to be used as human shields :)

How long can you spend throwing fireballs from a rooftop before its time to come down?

Don't know about fireballs, but random gun shooting can last up to 45 minutes without interruption.
