I hate it when I travel to Sheffield, after 10 minutes my relegation threatened team are reduced to 10 men by a halfwit of a Cumbrian linesman. Its right in front of me and the forward dived like Greg Louganis. A joy to watch for neutrals. Only I am not neutral . Penalty is saved but the rebound is knocked in. Five minutes later the striker has scored a hat-trick.

I've been forced to watch sky poker lately as my dad is trying to learn more about no limit hold em. The only reason I watched it before was for The Week which i thought was a shame to get rid of! (mini-whinge 1) I've been cringing at 70% of the presenters who profess to be able to advise people about how to become better poker players...a lot of their advice is complete trash!

Example...Chili was in the studio and had A5 vs 55 on a A5A flop and the presenter (i cant remember which one) was ranting about how Maria was didnt wanna see another 5 because that would be a sick beat. how many of each card does he think is in the damn deck?

I wouldnt highlight this if i felt that it was a one off but apart from the legend that is TK, a majority of the presenters on sky poker should be a lot more knowledgeable! Its just cringeworthy some of the things they say or dont spot.

What the hell is up with people in front of you in the cashpoint queue.

To my mind there are 2 simple options. Withdraw Cash and Check Balance. But I think anybody who drives to a cashpoint to 'Check Balance' should be arrested anyway. So in reality it should be a really simple process,...put card in,...type pin,...withdraw cash,...easy,...10 seconds job MAX!! BUT NO!! If you're in a rush you always get Ludwig Van feckin Beethoven wanting to compose his next symphony in front of you. FFS??

Massive TILT happens for me when Beethoven finishes, takes card from machine.....and then PUTS IT BACK IN!!!! Holy Jesus!!! After answering NO to the simple question "Do you require another service?" you should be banned from the surrounding area for at least 15mins imo.

Also, some idiots take their cash and then hang around the machine for a bit like they're expecting something else to come out. I think the whole process fries the brains of some folk. If you happen to be standing too close to them they freak out as well.

So, after getting cash I run into Tesco's to get some wine/beer and was running very late. I was in the 10 items or less queue with like 11, maybe 12 bottles, and people were staring and tutting about it. This is like a worse crime than manslaughter it appears.

Having more than 10 items in your basket is clearly less idiotic than standing in the queue actively counting the number of items in everyone's basket in order to get all huffy.

I wouldn't have time to count all the items in your basket if everybody had less than 10 as the queue would be moving faster as it's supposed to.

I don't count them to get huffy..I do expect you to be able to count and find a different sodding queue...how difficult is it really?

I have recently come to the conclusion that I should never leave my home town again under any circumstances.

On Friday night I drove up to Newcastle to play the Ladies Poker Tour.  On Saturday I busted out after an hour with AA vs 1010.  So then I decide that as Newcastle is 250 miles away I should stay a bit longer, and decide to play the £50 f/o deepstack,  I play that for 5 hours, getting through 3/4 of the field before flopping a set with KK, only to lose to AA, an A came on the river.  So I decide to go home. 

On the way home my petrol gets low so I stop at the garage and put some more in.  When I leave the petrol station the needle on the petrol gauge is still where it was before I filled up and I realise it is stuck.  This leads me to misjudge how much petrol I have, and I end up breaking down on the hard shoulder right inbetween the M1 and M6 slip road.



On Wednesday I head up to Manchester for the GUKPT.  I end up taking my brothers car as mine is playing up.  WHen I get as far as Stafford I notice the engine is overheating so I get off at the next junction and find a garage.  I fill the water up, but it just keeps disappearing.  Turns out the head gasket has gone which = me stranded at the roadside at 9pm when I have to check into my hotel in Manchester by 10.30.  After millions of phone calls, sharplea and richeo, who are already in Manchester have to drive to my hotel and check in for me, and then drive to Stafford to rescue me.  Meanwhile my car is headed back to Northampton on the back of a truck.  Played the main event, busted out after 6 levels.  Ho hum.  Get up this morning at 10.30 to catch 11.55 train back to Northampton.  Ring taxi at 11.10.  Taxi turns up at 11.45, not enough time to get to station.  So I head down to the casino for an hour as the next train isn't until 1.45pm...fun fun fun.  I had one bit of luck, I nearly missed my connection at Milton Keynes as my train got in late, but luckily the other train was also late.  Thank god for small favours.

i had a telephone call from a recruitment agency in France a few months ago, they asked me to apply for the job of Customer Service manager for a BIG Car Company's new luxury model for their European roll-out. The job was in switzerland and paid a fortune (More than I've ever made and about 4x as much as I was making at the time (or was it 5 or 6 times as much...I dunno).
Anyways..had the interview with the recruitment agent (who were the only agency this company was working with) and got through to the final 3.

Had a conference call set up to talk with the head honcho, when I got down to the final 2 and I didn't hear from them....2 weeks later I recieved a call from the recruitment agent who apologised as the person i had been dealing with had been on holiday and not told her boss about the conference call. Therefore (as they were under real pressure to fill that position) their other candidate got it.

All recruiters are scum..but those that cost me a top job like that (and this was proper senior F'ing stuff) at a top company really really stink.

Last night I was just messing around playing some small stakes heads up comps online.  I played three and lost three after some sick outdraws...sat down to play the fourth and the guy said gl in the chat box.  Later on a made a good call against him when he was trying to bluff me on A high board with 42off and the next thing I know I'm getting called a slut and a bitch in the chat box.  I really should know better than to let this tilt me, especially in a $5 hu match ffs!  But he really did wind me up so much.  Eventually got it all in with JJ vs 55 AIPF and sure enough he turned a bloody 5!!  Why do idiots like this always get so bloody lucky!!!!!!!!!

Bad beat City

The JW's are just the last of a bad run in my life.

Yesterday I banged my head just above my eye on the car door and when washing up a can for the recycling, I put my hand inside and wiped it vigourously round the inside of the tin only to then realise it had an inner 'lip' where the tin opened.  Needless to say that it dug chunks out of two of my fingers.  Didn't stop bleeding until about 4pm today!   The plaster box has been on call.  Both the head and the chopping off of fingers really hurt, don't try it at home.

Not a bad beat tale but more of a why am I such a dumb ass post. How long and often do I need to play PLO before I stop misreading my hand? Thought I had a house until the chips went bye bye just before final table, not for the first time. Looked at the hand history and thought why am I such a fkin tit.
