Post by: feedthegoat on April 09, 2008, 09:09:48 PM
Live 50 pound tourney in Manchester last week
No info on other players as i had only just moved tables.
Blinds 300/600

Mid Position player (stack size approx 15K) calls 600

hero (on the button stack size 12.5k)  Jh  Jc  raised to 2000

Big Blind (stack approx 9k) calls the extra 1400 as does the Mid Position limper.

flop  2s  8s  3d

big blind checks and mid position player bets 6000 into the 6300 pot.

Push or fold?

Which show is this?

Still a shove and i am leaning towards calling for the OP to be banned for baiting

I only posted it because 2 lads at my home game said they would have passed and waited for a better spot. I called them muppets and said I'd post it here and they would not get anyone who would agree with them. I must play in the tightest home game going. Note to self " i must bluff more against them rocks". I pushed for 4.5k more, the bb passed and the bettor instantly called and tabled
 4d 5d

turn  Qd  river  Kd

The only mistake i think i made was i that i should've raised more preflop probably to to 2.5k or thereabouts.

No! Raise size is good, you want people in the pot you have the 4th best hand in the game.

this board should be divided into real hand analysis and 50p whining tales.

 2s  8s  3d

Are you certain this is the actual flop and not the flop from a previous hand?

id make it 2400 when your raising in this spot you don't always want a call. if you raise to 2000 with the 4th best hand and better, then raise a different amount with worse hands you may give your hand range away.

lol live players are so bad they probably wouldn't know what you had if you showed it to them!!! The guy limp calls a raise with 45s, its not like he has any clue how to play the game.

Seems like a generalisation to me, but not 100% sure. I will read some Sklansky and come back to you.

Wrong. If it was the absolute truth the word FACT! would have been used.
