Title: Horse today
Post by: alanc on April 10, 2008, 10:42:54 AM
I know that I don''t have any cred on the horse tips dept. but there's a horse running today that's supposedly "trying".
Bijou Dan in the 2.45 at Carlisle. I met the owner briefly at Musselburgh races a few weeks ago and it was due to run the following week but was pulled out of the races due to firming ground. It ran on the flat on Saturday and was placed ( i mentioned it within my league selections). It was never going to win, but finished well. A good horse won the race. It was outpaced and will like the longer trip today. It was backed in to 10s at the off from 14s in the morning. Today it's currently 11s. The market could be a good indicator.
One thing that the owner told me was that a stable companion running at Musselburgh that day had no chance and it duly finished last. (Nelsons Column)
Anyway, do with it what you will. I have a small e/w bet on it.

It's not completely out of it....I don't like the horse (watched it run several times and I reckon it doesn't want to win) but it definitely has an EW shout. I think Twelve Paces is interesting with Timmy Murphy on..if the horse is fit 14-1 is a bit price.

I have already given up on the jumps though..after the National I don't back jumps in England anymore...and stay away from the turf flat untill the guinneas meeting really.

Looked like it was going to threaten at one point. Sadly never! One jockey had his horse run him into the white pole and clattered him in head, looked like he got knocked out unconcious, hope he is ok. (Bamby's Jockey  i believe)

Like I said from watching it run before..the horse doesn't want to win..it's a non-trier...stay well clear of this one in the future.

It's not a good jumper and it was under pressure a good distance out.
Apologies to all.

Don't worry about it...the horse has the ability..it really does...but mentally it isn't right and he won't get sorted out by this trainer (who is very talented but not the right man for a horse like this)..he needs to go to a smaller yard.
