Title: Friday night for the grown ups
Post by: Claw75 on April 17, 2008, 10:24:58 AM
Do we have a plan yet?  Scavenger hunt doesn't seem to have generated too much interest (though I think it would be fun!).  Is there a Chigacos in Nottingham? :)

We'll be there with the grown ups.  Been reading the 'kids' thread and don't think we could face football Saturday morning if we hung out with them.

OK.  So singing and getting drunk then (not necessarily in that order)?

seems to be lots of choice for karaoke:

http://www.karaokeinfo.co.uk/venues/venuesearch.asp?VenueName=&Town=nottingham&County=&PostCode=&KJName=&Days=Friday&AndOr=1&theOrder=1&go=yes

Perhaps one of the locals could recommend a good one from the list, or at least tell us which ones to avoid!

I'm not certain, it is off maid marion way and is all on 1 floor, so I don't see why not. But better check with someone else.

Could we not have a scavenger hunt in the club next door to dtd. You hide a messege on one of the young ladies and the subsequent clues are hidden on some of the others  ;whistle;

OK - think we need to get a plan together.  Presume we'll be able to get food in Chambers if we want it, so how about those of us staying in the Holiday Inn meet up in the bar whenever, with a view to heading over to Chambers around 7.30.  Anyone else that wants to come along later can meet us there.

looks like both nights out will be starting in the holiday inn bar before heading out for 7.30, should be good. I assume we'll start drinking early afternoon then

I'm just going to head to the bar as soon as I arrive - probably about 3ish.

Excellent . can't wait to have a sing song

I think you should sing '9 million bicycles in Beijing' ;)

Alternative lyrics;

I got 8 different holecards in PLO,
That's a FACT!
It's a thing we can't deny
Like the fact that I will ask for updates on it 'til I die

I will never play again on Blonde
That's a guess
No-one can ever say it's true
But I know that I will always complain to you.

I'm warmed by the fire of i-poker everyday
So don't call me a liar
Just believe everything that I say

I've played 3 million of hands online.
More or less
And it makes me feel quite small
But that's the one that stood out most of all.

I was high on the wire
With the chips in my sight
And I'll never tire
Of complaining about the hand Kev gave me that night.

I had the best cards that could get dealt.
That's a FACT.
It's a thing you can't deny
Like the fact the chips went the other way on the felt.

Dilemma, I hate karoke with a passion but having booked a hotel for the Friday I'm up for a drinking session. I may meet up in the afternoon and get drunk early on so that I care a little less about going to a dodgy karoke bar or I get so drunk and just wander off towards some else such as the bar next to dtd  :)

Looking forward to the Friday night out ... Alas I have a touch of man flu, so my vocal chords may be a bit off ... I suppose I may sing if I am sufficiently lubricated :)

IT'S NOT MAN FLU, FFS!!!!   it's a simple summer cold  ;grr;

You girls have no idea how bad man flu can be. Jane, it is your responsibilty to nurse yer man back to health, otherwise it will be all your fault.

I was wondering what a man would call it if he got real flu? Pneumonia?

PMT.

Warning!!!!

 Do not let anyone get me on shots or any other cocktail/mixed drinks i just cant handle them as long as I stay on softish lager i should be ok saying that i havent  been drunk in over a year so even the lager will definitely be reclyled at some stage,Does that make me a eco friendly drinker??

BTW Kev if you did indeed have man flu how could anyone drag you from the horizontal state,or was it just downgraded to man cold by then??

I have no idea what nippy sweeties are but feel it would be unfair to let the duke take on this challenge alone so I'm up for whatever the shadowy person has in store
