NEW BOARD: BLONDEITE PROFILES
     


This new board is designed as a resource for all Blondeites to be able to find out more about other Blondes at a glance

There is a list of questions produced seperately on the new board for use in this regard

The way we see it working is as follows:


Copy and paste the questions into a thread on the new board titled with your name. Please Answer them.

The thread will be for your use only to modify and add to the profile when you choose eg when you get another great result .

Others will not be able to reply, post polls or have any of the normal Blonde trimmings on your thread

We would like as many people as possible to add the information in their profile on the new board to their original user profiles (where you change avatars, signature lines etc)

To do this:

go to your user profile

where it says website name type "Blondeite Profile"

Where it asks for address put in the url of the thread you started

eg this thread would be:

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=3304.0

Then click on the webpage icon on the right under your icon everyone will be taken to your new "Blondeite Profile"

There was a thread here the other week with all this sort of stuff in it, started by the truth IIRC, why not just sticky that?
I personally think this forum is becoming too diluted of late, and looking too "busy" and daunting from the front page.
I thought most people wanted 1 or 2 more sections we now have 6!!

I think the idea here was to have an area where people could havesomething about them in a more permanent place than just a thread - everyone has their own space where they can modify or delete as required. It's not possible to add to threads, so it won't become jumbled, and I for one will be glad to be able to add to my thread when I a/manage to get into jeans of a less gargantuan nature, b/ find a good excuse to not be single  c/get a particularly nasty beat to put up.

There are 6 boards now, but because of the fluid nature and speed at which these boards fill up we felt that it would be great to sift some of the more classic threads to the top to show new people why blonde is as good as it is, and also because some of those threads don't deserve to be in the basement, as it were.

I have to say that the idea that we have an area now where blondes' info can only be seen by other registered users is also good - we have an awful lot of guests perusing the forums at any given time - we'd love it if they joined us.

I think we have a lot of boards now, but 2 of them aren't going to be overrun with postings IMHO.

Give it a while IFM, if it doesn't work I PROMISE we will listen and make changes :)

We are just trying to make this place better - we can't stand still. If peeps don't like the extra sections, we will get rid of them, I promise.

We can LET this place be better, or try to MAKE it better. Bear with us, we are doing our best to make the place interesting to eveyone. We will make a mistake or 3 along the way.

can i just add there is in reality 4 boards

the 2 new boards are to give a flavour of blonde and are not normally used for daily reading

but the best of blonde will relive some funny moments for us oldtimers while giving new members a

glimpse of what we are about


the profile is basically that just a profile and saves setting up a complex web page based profile

there are no plans at the moment to increase the 4 active boards but this is under constant review

I like it. we can share as little or as much as we want and update when ever we want.

i'm not saying the sections themselves are bad idea, just that it is becoming a bit daunting (especially for new peeps). I'm not naming other sites but when you go into some fora it's just a mess of different boards and is very offputting, this has always been the exception.
A nice clean look with uncomplicated navigation.
I would have thought putting them on the main site would have worked better for 2 reasons:-
Firstly it keeps the forum less cluttered
secondly you want traffic on the main site.
While i'm at it why don't you put a big link on the top of the forum to the main site?
Or access to the forum only via the main site?
I am trying to be constructive though of course my own personal preference has to come into play :D

ifm the reason i made the new board members only was so that non members wouldnt see it and be off put

but members after 2 minutes will realise that the best of blonde and blondite profiles are non active boards


i do think the internet poker board has been a godsend in freeing up space on the general board and a few ideas will help the live and internet board grow

the days of single board forums have nearly past us by and with as many new topics and posts as blonde is getting we would be unable to survive for much longer growing so fast if we didnt adapt


yes it would of been nice to make the profiles webased but that more complicated for the members and is also beyond my remit and abilty

The profiles board is already my favorite, I love to learn more about people, the response has been fantastic even though it's only been up for a few hours, I keep checking it to see if another one has been added

Come on guys, I can't wait to see some more, it's sooo interesting!

I'd like to encourage people to add more detail or more questions with answers to their profiles too. Same as Red, I like to learn more about the people Im hanging with

No offence intended to ifm, but as an internet user first and foremost, anyone with half a brain and half a clue expects forums these days to have multiple sections. I found it odd that everything on blonde was in the one place.

Unless you are a true internet newbie (at which point, ANYTHING will seem daunting) then you should not have a problem with having sensible things like archived sections and profile sections and off topic areas. Its the norm. Like toast and jam, or M25 and traffic jams.

Sorry to RED and ADAM. I have enough difficulties answering the questions given, never mind thinking up new questions with witty responses. i have to save my one liners for more apt times.

Well, there we have a range of opinions, & some great constructive criticism. Keep it coming, we can handle it.

We have to gamble now & then to keep this place fresh, to stimulate wider interest, &, well, nothing gets better by standing still.

But if we make a wrong move or two, it's good to know we will get feedback.

It's fairly well known that I resisted the idea of extra boards for as long as I could, but I do think that eventually, I had to bow to compelling logic.  Around  800 posts a day are going on blonde, & it just became unmanageable.

We are still listening to you, & we always will.

when i was a kid we had a dog called sasha, a big lump of an alsatian, totally devoted to each and every one of us (mom, big brother and me), we had asked for a dog for years and my, then, stepdad hated the idea.
Anyway, she was a fearsome creature to all but us, frightfully protective but incredibly gentle and kind to us kids (the window cleaner used to knock the door and run to the end of the path and we had to take his £2 out to him :D).
Anyway, my mother was very, very houseproud and as such sasha was never allowed into our rooms and boy she knew it!!!
One night i was awoken by sasha not only in my room but on my bed!!!, very odd, if anyone knows dogs they rarely act out of training.
The thing is she woke me by biting my hand, not a gentle bite but a proper bite (she actually drew blood!!), needless to say i was terrified and shouted my mom at the top of my voice.
The strange thing is when my mom got out of bed she smelt gas from downstairs, the hob had been left on for a few hours and the house was filled with it.
needless to say that dog saved all our lives that night. she knew the severety of the situation we were in and she probably agonised for a while before coming into my room and biting my hand.

ifm surprises me sometimes too, what a wonderfull tale right out of the blue

as long as people know how to navigate the site, its all good. i like the profile section and its a good idea to have all the profiles in the same place for easy navigation. i agree with Red-dog. there are a lot of interseting folk around and the most pleasing fact is that there is none of the 'in-crowd' nonsense you find on other forums..

I do know a guy who slept with Debbie Harry... but it was not that long ago (8 years or so ago) - he swears all he was thinking of were his lustful thoughts about her when he was 13/14 and how proud of himself he'd have been.   :D

Ok here's a rather odd story that happened to me in my (cough) younger days. I was working in a pub in Bayswater and met these 3 asian guys who were flatemates and all doing the same language course at college. One in particular was VERY nice and we both fell for each other BIG time. After about 3 months of living in each others pockets we had our first row, I was annoyed that everytime we went out his mates had to come along too, they were nice guys but I wanted us to go out on our own for once but he was having non of it. Anyway after we made up  ;) he tells me that he is the oldest son of a King/Prince of some Asian country (dont remember which) and the 2 mates are his bodyguards and that it was really important that I didn't tell anyone who he was coz it could put him in danger. I pondered on this at work the next day and decided he was probably winding me up (he was a bit of a joker). After work I went back to the flat and he was GONE, the flat was cleared out and I never saw him again  :'( It was all VERY odd.

I believed I snogged Martine McCutcheon on my 17th birthday, although I do not remember due to being in a drunken stupor. My friends told me I did, and such was my youthful naiivety, I did not question why a star in the midst of her Eastenders fame would feel the need to play tonsil tennis with a scruffy underage kid off his face on sambuca.

Eventually I was told the truth, it was more of a happy birthday peck on the cheek shortly prior to my being carried from the building.

Haven't been as drunk since that day, having resolved that the next time I have any kind of physical contact with a female celebrity to retain some memory of the encounter.
