Title: Omaha -2 Hands
Post by: Jaydeaa on April 20, 2008, 12:31:32 PM
Friday night, we finally got a 6 handed cash game of omaha going down in Southend must be the 2nd time we were playing in 3 years.

We played a round of each PLO - PLO H/L - 6 CARD PLO (High only)

Just wondering what people thought of these hands, for reference we were playing 1/2 and all players sat down with 200 and a few rebuys.

HAND 1

PLO

Hole Cards:  7d Ad 9h Kh (button)

2 limpers and a check

Flop Cards:  8d Td Kc

SB: 6
BB: Call
ME: Call (is there anything wrong with this in anyones eyes (im very new to omaha and want to learn) do i try and get heads up with top pair/kicker etc and raise pot or do i call hoping to hit the straight/flush draw and get paid off?

Turn Card:  2c

SB: 15
BB: 35
ME: Call (is this wrong calling with a nut flush draw and up n down straight draw)
SB: Folds

River Card:  Jd (completes my straight and nut flush)

BB: Check (now obviously i guess he is putting me on a flush, and im not getting paid, so at this point the pot is 109, now what kind of bet am I making here to get paid or do i just bet out pot thinking im not getting paid)
ME: 54 (1/2) pot
BB: Folds but shows nut straight, and says "please show the flush"

Have I dont anything wrong here? have i played this wrong? could I have played it any other way? and was I wrong for not showing him the flush?

2nd HAND PLO H/L

Im still getting used to this game both live and online, so bear with me

Me in the small blind
HOLE CARDS:  Ac 2c 5h 3h (folded to BUTTON)

BUTTON: 7
ME: Call
BB: Makes it 20
BUTTON: Call
ME: Call

PRE FLOP POT (60)

FLOP COMES: 3c Jd Jc

ME: Check
BB: Check
BUTTON: Check

TURN COMES: 5d

Me: Check
BB: 40
Button: 100
Me: (fold)

s this wrong, when im drawing to a flush and straight and nut low? and do i call for value hoping im going to outdraw someone?

Hand 1 I'd have raised on flop as, unless your foes are donkeys they won't pay you off when flush hits. Deffo right not to show at end, don't want him to feel good folding straight.

Hand 2, Nearly always bad to try to hit a flush on a paired flop so no trouble folding there.

OK..Hand 2 you played fine..easy fold for me with that action on the turn..

Hand 1; Raise pre-flop..you have the button..a half decent hand..use it.
Bet the flop as well. As Redsimon says..noone without the flush will pay you off if you hit it. Again, you have position..use it and bet it.

If you decide to play PLO this shallow then you really have to be more aggressive.

The first hand is a 100% must raise pre, on the flop you should again be raising. PLO is not a game to be passive in.

2nd hand, fire the turn yourself
