Rumours circulating that one of Villas top lads has been run over in a car by a Blues fan and he's been charged with murder!!

From what I understand its one of the main lads in the C-Crew thats been taken out - Danny (??)  Danny Brown (I know he wrote a book about the Villa's firms and was well known in hooligan circles down south)

If this is true and Hooligans or indeed ordinary fans are going out and running each other down after football matches then its bad craic.

Whoever the dead lad is RIP.

They reckon it was a young lad just making his way home, guy chased him in a car and ran him over.

A man, believed to be a football fan, has died after being hit by a car in the Aston area of Birmingham.
The collision happened after Sunday's Premier League match between Aston Villa and Birmingham City at Villa Park, which the home side won 5-1.
Police said the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries during the incident in Aston Hall Road at 1500 BST.
Officers were at the scene and the area was taped off. It is not yet clear if rival supporters were involved.
The vehicle involved was a Volkswagen Golf and police said they were appealing for witnesses.

A MURDER probe began last night after an Aston Villa fan was run over following a Premier League grudge match.

The man, 26, was “sent flying” by a car — said to be driven by a Birmingham fan — after Villa’s 5-1 win.

One horrified onlooker outside Villa’s ground said: “He didn’t stand a chance. It looked like he was mown down deliberately.”

Police arrested a 20-year-old and were last night questioning him on suspicion of murder.

The incident happened as the victim headed home wearing a replica kit after his team had crushed local rivals Birmingham City.

A witness said there were hand gestures exchanged with a man driving a VW Golf.

The fan was hit in Aston Hall Road near Villa Park around 3pm.

An ambulance rushed the fan to Birmingham’s City Hospital but doctors could not save him.


Cameras

He was certified dead shortly after arrival.

The driver was arrested almost immediately but it was unclear last night whether he had halted at the scene or been traced subsequently.

It is believed the incident was captured on CCTV cameras outside the Villa Park ground.

The victim had not been named last night as police contacted his relatives.

Radio five have stated that the driver was infact also an Aston Villa fan.

Guess the facts don't always match the dramatic headlines.

Defo not, but as I said in my OP these where the rumours doing the round. 

It wasn't your headline I was criticising it was the press who typically jump with the sensational storyline of rival fan kills without any consideration to the effect it my have. Their lazy reporting could have stirred up a lot of negative reaction last night and resulted in more violence. Then again if it makes a good story and and gets people watching the news or buying a newspaper what do they care.

I understand mate, I am usually the first to give the media it in the neck for lazy reporting, but on this occasion I think a lot of this was circulating around the casual websites and the cops weren't forthcoming with much info.

But I understand what you say, there could have been a major comeback last night and no doubt there would have been a lot of bad blood.

Its the same up here before a Celtic v Rangers games the media stoke it up days in advance and predict mayhem yet they take no blame for having the fans so highly strung.
