Life's all about experiences but far to often we neglect these as we get caught up in the routine of everyday life. So I thought it's about time I committed to doing some of the things I've always dreamed of doing and have done a list and plan to work my way though them.

They include walking the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, staying in the ice hotel, visiting Angkor Wat, going to the Bull Run and tomato festivals in Spain, eating at Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck, riding on the wonder wheel in coney island (a must for all Warriors fans), play in the WSOP main event, buy a property at auction, etc, etc. So far I have identified 89 things to do.

What are some of the things you guys want to do before you die???

I want to be beaten up by a super-model's jealous husband.

Go horse riding in the hills behind Vegas at sunset.

Stop biting my nails.

Red, having read your story re: seeing the sunrise at the pyramids I added that on my list. Didn't you say you watched it from some dodgy takeaway joint.

I thought the sun never set in Vegas?

Great great thread starter this one, hopefully some good ideas will come from it.

For me I think:

Write a book
Watch a boxing match at either madison square garden or ceasars palace
Win at least one majorish poker tournament (GBPT upwards)
Get a bassett hound (Im getting one next year)
Become a shareholder in Sheffield Wednesday (just waiting for those three lucky numbers on the national lottery)
The Bull Run has always appealed too
Shoot a gun (I am actually very anti guns, but Ive always wanted to fire one)
Fly first class


Cant think of anything else, wow Im pretty unimaginative

I used to ride a lot, but I had a bad fall and was a bit scaredy after that. I miss the smell of the horses, I used to go riding and wear my jhodpurs all day - something very reassuring about them?

The US saddles are massive, great for even beginners and from what I understand the horses are docile so I'd be happy to sit there for a few hours with a great vantage point watching the sun go down over vegas. Maybe next year...

It's great to do the big "cliché" type things, but doing them only takes up a small fraction of your life.

There is so much to enjoy hidden amongst the seemingly mundane, every day things in life.

When you go on holiday, you see wonder and beauty because you expect to see it, and you want to see it.

Try looking at familiar things with holiday eyes. 

Not the cheap seats though, I want to be sat next to Jack Nicholson and Denzell Washington or someink like that

I'm pretty happy with the things I've done and seen..nothing really that I still want to do... "it's all good", as you kids say these days..though I'd love to lead a revolution...that'd be cool.

Having said that...

I want to go around the world in a Landrover on a shoestring budget.

I'd like to win a race v Thewy.

I would like to sit around a campfire under the moon and stars with a few friends from the blonde forum, listening to Red Dogs tales of life.

When i was 18, one of my closest friends was knocked over and killed by a car - it was extremely difficult to take and over the next few months i did many strange things.  one was to write a list of things that i intended to do before i died.  i was sports mad (still am) so on my list i did 10 things that i wanted to see in the sporting world and then 10 other things that i wanted to do.  Looking back now some of them seem rather strange and almost selfish but i then remind myself that i was just 18 years old at the time (am now 33) and had a totally different outlook on life.
I have been lucky enough to achieve 9 of the 20 so far and hope that more will follow in the future.

If there was one thing that i had to name now that wasnt on my list then, it would have to be to play in the WSOP main event.

Think i've said it before I done the exact opposite watched the sunset in the pizza hut upstairs from the kfc ;)

Me too and I'd like to see the Machu Picchu. I'd also like to go to Japan, Venice and Rome & New Zealand.   There's other places I'd like to visit, you could say I'd like to take a couple of years out to travel again.     I like the traveling around the world in a Landrover idea, one thing I would love to do is to drive to China or beyond in a car.

I got married in the Ice Hotel, it's an amazing place.  Be sure to go snowmobiling when you are there, it's fantastic.

Boring really, have kids with the wife and retire to Mill Valley CA. Couple of years off then go go go.

I'm considering Easter Island but have decide to add a trip to Petra in Jordan as part of visiting all the new wonders of the world.

Re: the ice hotel the plan is to do that and whilst there also do the snowmobiling plus drive a huskie sledge.

I have thought about going on one of those Russian icebreaker tourist ships but there a tad expensive plus I heard a story where one got stuck and had to stay where it was for a month before it could break free.

That's the sort of thing.  A month would be awesome, getting stuck (providing I knew help would be on it's way) wouldn't bother me, I think I'd enjoy it mostly.  I'd quite like an adventure like that.  Perhaps we'd end up going overland on a small expedition or something like that!

Not at all boring and probably the number one thing I want to do before I die.

I was once snowed in the snooker hall for two days. It was a struggle but I survived.

Just signed up for a tour around china , tibet and india get to see forbiden city , teracota Warriors, great wall of china , lhasa (in tibet for a week) get to treck through the himalaya's  and then onto the taj mahal,  5 week holiday I will fill out atleast 10 things i want to see and do before i die in one go.

i forgot also seeing a panda researce and breeding site i got this tour with another week on top for the taj mahal

That looks like one hell of a trip, I'm so jealous. I'm considering from now on taking one month off each year to go traveling in one country so I can really appreciate that country. China is definately one of the places I want to go. Have fun and be sure to start a thread re: your travels and post lot's of pic's.

Ever watched a film called 'The Breakfast Club' ?  It always reminded me of how things were at our school.

I'm not talking about going back to high school though.  I meant University.  Never been.  Was offered a full scholarship (thanks to basketball and a sick high score on my ACT - college entrance exam), but turned it down...because I was having too much fun tending bar in a Ft. Lauderdale nightclub...sighhhhhhhhh

Things to do before I die...

~ Have children
~ Go back to Florida
~ Lose weight (don't want a coffin big enough for 2!)
~ Get a bit older first
~ Find happiness... I'm not sure how yet though!

I have been ticking a few off over recent years, going horse riding, going in a sea plane last year. I have been planning a hot air balloon trip for a while, but Mrs has had to have a few ops. Thankfully she is healthy so far this year so hoping it will happen soon.
PS Nice photos Graham, I admire people that make their wedding really special like that. Mine was nice and traditional and all that apart from the fights and the tears Family not us), but would have loved something an ice wedding. I am trying to convince the Mrs to renew our vows in vegas in June, but she thinks I will embarrass her, who me?  :dontask: ;whistle;

Watching my kids grow to be healthy happy honest people , hopefully having Grandchildren , i could die happy .

I just got 3rd in a 10 seater, my best finish yet, i feel it's coming in the next 4 months or so.

The guy who knocked me out was so crap and stuff it's unreall, blinds 25/50 and ive got 26000 and he's got 26500 and i get  2h 2s on the button so i make a standard raise to 1200 and the BB calls, flop comes  9h 9s Th, wooooooohoooooooo ship, 2 pair baby great flop for me, anyway i cant remember how the betting went and that but at the end of the day we get all our mony in and you wont believe what this doughnuts got,  Jh Qh, lol what a mug, he hasnt even got a pair!!!!! anyway basicly, at the end of the day he gets so lucky cos it comes a 10 and that to give him the bigger to pair, thats probably the worst beat ive had in my life!! god online players are soooooooo bad, haw sick was that and stuff? i told him after that i was at least 65% favorite cos he didnt have a pair.

I'm stuck 2k playing these stts now.
