Title: A different view of the premiership
Post by: Rooky9 on April 24, 2008, 07:23:25 PM
Update: quotes from Slaven Bilic, the national team coach of Modric:

"I would be very happy if Luka finds a new club before Euro 2008. I would want this for all of my players who are looking for new clubs and are at the end of their contracts.

"As for Luka, Newcastle United are no doubt a big club - just behind the top five: "Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton.
"NUFC are in the range of Chelsea, Leeds United and Aston Villa but can invest a lot more money in new signings than let's say Tottenham.

"Also it's more likely that Newcastle will be English champions than Tottenham. Luka wouldn't be making a mistake if he signs for The Magpies."

Now this bloke must be on drugs, or hasnt seen the premiership since he played in it!

I think he's in a time warp.

it's not even like he's living in the past. Everton were awful when he played for them, relegation contenders.

he's clearly just barking.

Chelsea and Leeds in the same bracket?

Also "it's more likely that Newcastle will be English champions than Tottenham."

RobertHM has it spot on. This is 2008 not 1996.

I knew you would like that bit! if I though either of us would be alive to see a winner I'd have a bet with with you about who wins it first!

Spurs and the Barcodes have a slightly less chance than Liverpool winning the league.

approximately a 0% chance.

I read an article that had Leeds the 6th most supported team in England behind the top 4 and Spurs...

What does supported mean: as in how many fans go and support them(this is what it means to me anyway). How could this possibly be true when newcastle get 50k+ for every home and except derby i believe we have sold out our full allocation for every away game this season.Don't think anyone in the right mind could think newcastle aren't 1 of the top well supported clubs in the country chelsea maybe doing well yet the don't even sell out all the champs lge games.
