Post by: deputydawg on April 28, 2008, 11:06:06 AM the only hands you would want him to have if you call are weaker Q or weaker J and it's almost half your stack, I'd fold no problem. I don't see the fact he got a walk last hand relevant, other than he is less likely to push with nothing as he has been given time for another round to find a hand like the last one he showed
Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: boldie on April 28, 2008, 11:07:15 AM I don't call here unless I have a read on villain.
Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: MANTIS01 on April 28, 2008, 11:15:22 AM Absolutely no need to call off half your stack with Queen high here imo. You have suited connectors and they work well in cheap multi-way pots. In this situation you want strong HU hands and you want to be acting first...just like your oppo has. It's likely he's in front and may very well have you dominated, so calling isn't defending your blind, it's simply making a bad call, against a tight oppo, who has recently frustrated you.
Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: maldini32 on April 28, 2008, 11:22:56 AM How many left? Whats the payout?
Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: TheChipPrince on April 28, 2008, 11:35:59 AM I couldnt call this in a freeroll...
Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: Royal Flush on April 28, 2008, 02:57:30 PM It's a lot closer than some seem to be suggesting if the oppo is any good.
What stage of the comp is this? Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: Horneris on April 28, 2008, 03:50:22 PM I might call here. Its quite close and i like to gamble.
In his spot i push with almost any two given the antes. Has no1 noticed the 500 ante posted by each player? How active has he been in the past, particularily in B on B situs? Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: boldie on April 28, 2008, 03:54:47 PM I might call here. Its quite close and i like to gamble. In his spot i push with almost any two given the antes. Has no1 noticed the 500 ante posted by each player? How active has he been in the past, particularily in B on B situs? yeah I noticed the antes here. it would still depend on the player though for me and if I have a read on him (IOW is he good? would he always push with any two here? that sort of thing) Title: Re: Marginal Call? I referred to that factor. Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: boldie on April 28, 2008, 04:07:24 PM I might call here. Its quite close and i like to gamble. I referred to that factor. If you have no read on the player would you call? (seriously interested here as i have stopped doing so because of a seriously bad run when doing this and just want to know if I should actually call here) Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: Longy on April 28, 2008, 04:19:55 PM I wouldn't call against an unknown as they push too tight from the sb normally.
Against a comptent player who is likely to be pushing a very wide range possibly ATC, it is alot closer. Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: UpTheMariners on April 28, 2008, 04:21:07 PM i think its a call, he is pushing very wide at least 30% of hands which would give you 47% equity (apx.44% needed). he could even be pushing any two here. i recognise the name as a profitable player so i doubt hes going to be sitting around waiting for a better spot to increase his stack by 20%.
he would have to be pushing with 66+, A4s+, K8s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, A9o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo for it to be a break even call. Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 28, 2008, 05:14:46 PM 3 tables left. This is from the $30 rebuy on FT.
Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: MANTIS01 on April 28, 2008, 05:54:43 PM With 3 tables left you have a lot of fold equity when you put your chips in first, and that's a good enough reason not to put half of them in second with a marginal hand.
Title: Re: Marginal Call? Post by: maldini32 on April 28, 2008, 06:22:20 PM I think im calling, not a lot in it tho. Both plays are allright i reckon. But i dont use odds calculators......
