Ironside's Game For Life Nursery School.

The school is just south of Batticaloa,

and there are 45 children on the register.

The photos are of the opening ceremony,


attended by dignitaries of the community,

parents, and of course, the children in their new uniforms.... so at last in May 2006

The P4C brouhaha opened a lot of people's eyes as to what goes on with charities, and has made me a lot more selective about who I give to.

Someone wanted me to sponsor them to jump out of a plane the other day. I politely declined.

The reason was, £100 from what was raised paid for the parachute jump.
If I gave them a tenner, and they raised £200, it would be £5 to the charity, and £5 towards their day out.

If it's a small charity, they might then go and spend as much as £4 of that £5 on administrative costs. As far as doing good goes, you're better off buying 10 lottery tickets.

Not that I do buy lottery tickets, there are a lot of corporate sponsored charities out there, where the administrative costs are payed in full by a particular company, and 100% of what you give goes towards doing some good.

I'm not going to plug any of them on here though, as I understand I now have zero credibility when it comes to recommending charities.  ;goodvevil;

Just had a look at their site - they held their last poker event ever last weekend in Scarboroigh.

Tried to log into their forum but it seems they have deleted my username.

3) P4C have instructed their Solicitors to monitor this thread.

it would probably be better for p4c to monitor the thread themselves and alert their solicitors to anything of interest. that way they don't have to pay them to come on here all the time and could give the money saved to good causes

They are doing that, too, which would explain why their Solicitors are now on the case.

If he resigned from the charity nearly 2 years ago it would make sense for the contact details on the P4C website to have been amended and not be his contact details. It appears that their website is full of affiliate links and one wonders who gains the benefits of these links if people sign up to the online casinos from the P4C website links especially now it appears from what TK has stated that P4C is no longer involved in running Poker events. We can only hope that some benefit from any monies gained from the affiliate links goes towards good causes.

Davey's listed as being game4life rather than p4c though isn't he?

Well, more correctly, I repeated what I'd been told today, via PM, by somone who is or was very closely connected to P4C. You can assume that the PM was from someone who would know, for 100% certain.

This is a area which is where you must all be very careful, please, in view of my earlier note.

P4C & Game4Life are or were "closely connected". One is or was a Registered Charity, the other is or was a business which collected monies & passed a % on to the Charity.

I'm not taking sides here, or being difficult - just be careful, please.

Seems strange to me that innocent people would have solicitors reviewing this thread.  Not sure if they would be able to get sofa-king in Cyprus though.
