Title: Zenit St Petersburg, here they come! Post by: TightEnd on May 01, 2008, 10:26:27 PM As a complete neutral, that was some backs to the wall performance. Now for Mr Advocaat in Manchester........ 2223 Nacho Novo scores to send rangers into the Uefa Cup final. Unbelievable scenes in Florence! 2222: Brahim Hemdani makes it 3-2 to Rangers and Christian Vieri misses. 2220: Montilivo puts the Italians 2-1 up, but Papac equalises. It's 2-2. Can Neil Alexander bring Rangers back into it? He can! 2219: Steven Whittaker makes it 1-1 with a cool finish. 2218: Kuzmanovic makes no mistake from the spot to put Fioretina 1-0 up. 2217: Barry Ferguson takes the first penalty and it's saved by Frey. 2215: "Fiorentina have had 27 shots tonight and still can't get the ball in the net." Still if a Rangers fan says to me that they're tired, should have the season extended etc etc then i'll refer them to this game as a prime example as to why they have a backlog and are tired. They played for penalties from the start. Can they win it ? Sure they can. Dvd sales might not be as high as they might if they tried to play football though. Sandy Title: Re: Zenit St Petersburg, here they come! Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on May 01, 2008, 10:41:21 PM Celtic fans are funny.

Make sure i go out the night of the UEFA cup final.Anywhere that hasn't got a tv. Either that or i might paint a wall and watch it dry. Vieri was impressive when he came on! lol. And i thought Steve Howard was bad. Title: Re: Zenit St Petersburg, here they come! Post by: boldie on May 01, 2008, 11:00:30 PM Zenit beat Bayern 4-0..they destroyed them...they also pulverised teams previously to that...And I think they'll beat Rangers...Advocaat and Ricksen v Rangers should be good though.
MrsB delighted with the win but hated the penalty shootout...atleast it showed Ferguson for the fud he is though...I don't know if she can stand watching the final as this nearly killed her. Goodluck to both teams in the final..amazing achievement by both. Title: Re: Zenit St Petersburg, here they come! Post by: Geo the Sarge on May 02, 2008, 11:22:50 AM You play to your strengths. Rangers currently only have Cuellar (immense again as he has been all season) and Alexander who have produced consistently.
The defensive game is what gave them their opportunity, which they have taken. Shite to watch, however well done and good luck for the final. Zenit have played some of the best football I've watched this year though. Geo. Title: Re: Zenit St Petersburg, here they come! if Rangers and Celtic were admitted to the EPL and the year before one/both went deep in Europe what'd happen to the coeff points they earned. would be a bit ridic if they did well enough to get an extra UEFA spot for SPL then left so a large number of smaller clubs got through. would also be ridic to apply them to EPL when no English club earned them. by the way, well done Rangers, nice result Title: Re: Zenit St Petersburg, here they come! Both Rangers and Celtics performances in the Champs league and Uefa cup this year will keep the points ticking upwards. Title: Re: Zenit St Petersburg, here they come!
