Title: British Poker Open Post by: Ruru on May 09, 2005, 03:55:56 PM OK lads and lasses - reputations on the line here! In advance of tonight's final on the Poker Channel, let's have your tips for the winner. I've added a poll as I think it's a much underused feature of this fantastic forum :)
I'm going with Haakon. Come on then Ironside, let's have your Bismarck! Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: tikay on May 09, 2005, 04:03:02 PM Cant tell you who I voted for, but it's not hard to work out......
I think Ironside is en route from Blackpool to the Outer Hebrides, or wherever he lives, so we wont hear from him for a while! And he had a hard night last night, at the Lap Dancing Club. Any idea who went with him?........ Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: Ruru on May 09, 2005, 04:06:43 PM I'm not sure if he made it there or not. I can assure you I was safely tucked up in bed by midnight! I doubt the same can be said of Ironside or his accomplice!
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: tikay on May 09, 2005, 04:24:51 PM Hehe. My lips are sealed......
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: TightEnd on May 09, 2005, 04:41:40 PM Got to be Raymer surely?!
watched your heat for the first three hours Rumit.......you had a mountain of chips when I departed! Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: Ruru on May 09, 2005, 05:18:42 PM And at last - a real pic of myself to share with you all (though admittedly a student ID pic from about 6 years ago!)
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: Nakor on May 09, 2005, 08:16:54 PM My Two pennys worth,
Nice little double Adam in the 'BPO' and Derby for Promotion. Trust Me. Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: tikay on May 09, 2005, 09:29:59 PM Nice pic Ruru.
Ironside, sort him out. He's quite hopeless. Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: AlrightJack on May 09, 2005, 10:36:14 PM :-) I'll leave the lapdancing report in Ironside's capable hands. I suspect the Blackpool trading standards office may be be receiving a letter of complaint soon though.
Last I heard Ironside was having a tea dance in Gretna on the way home. Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: divaflava on May 09, 2005, 10:41:55 PM somebody tell me why i voted for adam then backed raymer ::)
actually, please don't. Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: tikay on May 09, 2005, 10:43:06 PM Hehe, we have ALL been there...
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: AlrightJack on May 09, 2005, 10:52:43 PM Depends which post you're replying to, lol
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: tikay on May 09, 2005, 10:59:00 PM Well I aint been to any Lap Dancing Clubs - but from what I hear, nor did Ironside over the weekend......
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: divaflava on May 09, 2005, 11:00:18 PM BTW, wrong thread but I thought your comments on Blackpool were spot on Tikay.
I played my first live game in the 150NL rebuy and it was as educational as I was later tired and emotional. I enjoyed winning a few pots but paying 165 to find my hands shake when I'm picking up chips from the pot I've just won was a pricy bit of tuition. Perhaps I'll try Nottingham next time, apparently they're all weak rocks there ;) I must say thankyou to "Junior" for showing myself and most of the rest of the betfair regulars how to deal mistake-free in the 50 sat we organised for the 500 the next day. Pity his A6 ran into traffic. Top man. Oh, and EDEN was pretty good on the Friday. Don't tell my mum! Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: divaflava on May 09, 2005, 11:09:08 PM Gosh, Greg's a lucky... lawyer
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: Ironside on May 09, 2005, 11:25:22 PM down side no lap dancing
upside ironiside had 5 bet with ruru that alrightjack would not make it to lap dance club other upside i just had to deposit 2.5k back into my bank account that i withdrew to spend on the girlies Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: ifm on May 10, 2005, 01:54:29 AM Are the 2 fella's left in internet qualifiers?
Anyone know who they are, anything about 'em? Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: divaflava on May 10, 2005, 03:13:01 AM bit late now but...
hak is a pro golf gambler, apparently. I don't know enough to comment on his poker skills. adam is just aggressive new talent. He's now outplayed Gary Jones, Padraig and Greg Raymer. See how he does next time. Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: divaflava on May 10, 2005, 03:17:37 AM BTW, I can understand anyone thinking he didn't outplay them at all, I may well have this argument tomorrow on bf. But I think he's very good.
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: londonpokergirl on May 10, 2005, 11:43:00 AM I switched off when it was heads up, because I was sick of hearing Padraig say about how he was knocked out, or that Raymer eats a lot, or Djimovic outdrawing him
Who won it it the end?? Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: Ruru on May 10, 2005, 12:56:31 PM Dujmjmmmrmeveovic or whatever won. Haykon had Kings and Aces but went all in with them and was unlucky Adam only had 3-7 or something like that each time. Should really have got a few more chips from the aces.
Honestly tikay, the pic appeared when i first uploaded but I guess ironside wasn't lying when he was talking abut cookies! Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: tikay on May 10, 2005, 01:06:13 PM Like I said, you ae hopeless. Ironside will sort it, I feel sure.
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: Ruru on May 10, 2005, 01:17:47 PM Still the x is more flattering than the actual pic - might be worth keeping
Title: Re: British Poker Open Post by: Ruru on May 10, 2005, 05:06:42 PM I must say well done to Haakon - I think he played by a blinder and I'm still amazed at how low his heart rate was all night. He was at 59 when Adam was at 146!!! Goes to show what 12 Coronas can do for you!
I can honestly say, you couldn't wish to meet a nicer guy and I wouldn't be at all surprised to seem him do well at the WSOP. |
