Title: Omaha Cash
Post by: M3boy on May 17, 2008, 11:44:25 AM
You have £350 infront of you and its a £1 £2 plo 4 card and is 7 handed

The game has been fairly tight with not many big pots.

UTG limps, next folds, you have  Ahrt Qh Qc Ks and raise pot (£10).

Button calls as does small and big blind.

UTG then re raises another £50 and you call.

Now the button moves all in (he only has £120) left.

SB and BB fold

UTG now moves all in as well (£176)

Now £440 in the middle

Call or pass?

I make the call on this. Assuming you sat down with the standard 100 buyins then you aren't losing much to call...nearly a freeroll. If you sat down playing pretty deep then I would still make the call as you have a bit of sidepot insurance v UTG.

UTGs play suggests AAxx. Haven't a clue what the button has. Possibly 6678 double suit or something in that kind of range but I'm calling against this range. But I think I'm calling v both as there are a lot of good draws there too. I would be a little nervous though because of the pot size in relation to blinds.

£126 to win £440 makes this a snap call here. You're never going to be worse than 25% to win the pot.

All you have is a draw heavy hand,i nut flush and straight, queens are dead imo and i fold to original £50 raise, u need to see the flop on this one i think, otherwise ur risking ur stack on hitting the flop et al....pre ur def behind, with this kinda action going on ur gonna get a better spot to chuck it all in than this...

is the call of £50 more when UTG pulls the limp r/r correct?  My first reaction would be to fold it here given that he seems to have only £226 total

thanks all - in hindsight I do not like the call for £50 more.

I did indeed ship it in though. Result irrelevant

If I call the £50 im already resigned to sticking the rest in if need be.
Just pull the handle spin the reels hit or reload.
Isnt that what "advanced" cash Omaha is all about ?

Builds pot, allows you to withstand a re-raise.

my general pre flop strategy also. apart from i don't min raise because it's girly, just a bit more than a min raise usually.

lol, no I'm strictly straight. But you want manipulate the pot to the right level that it's big enough for your hand but not too big to forced out by a re-raise preflop. Manipulation of the pot preflop is very important.
