Title: SPL Climax Post by: celtic on May 22, 2008, 02:07:40 AM The day of reckoning is here. Dundee Utd v Celtic & Aberdeen v Rangers.
Live on Setanta for me as in englandshire. Who's going? How's it gonna go? Obv would be gutted if we didnt win it following our recent comeback. We are in this position thanks to Bandit who wrote Celtic off in Mid march following a draw at home to Dundee Utd. Well done Bandit. Mon the hoops. Win it for Tommy Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: GlasgowBandit on May 22, 2008, 06:57:58 AM I got butterflies, I have the dy off had two bottles of wine last night and I'm prancing about the now with the tunes on I need more wine when does Tesco open?

Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: GlasgowBandit on May 22, 2008, 09:42:18 AM back from tesco five spot for two bottles of wine is what I call smart shopping!
lets do this Celtic!!!!!!!!! Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: Rod Paradise on May 22, 2008, 09:43:51 AM I've a half day off this afternoon & get the bus to Dundee at 4:30. Nerves hadn't started yet - but the have now (thanks celtic).
Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: Maxriddles on May 22, 2008, 09:47:18 AM No, it would be much funnier if Rangers win 6-0 (3 of which were really offside & 3 from penalties) and Celtic win 2-0 (denied two stone wall penalties and 2 goals wrongly chopped off). ;D
In all seriousness both clubs have difficult games and neither will have it easy, in my opinion that means that if Celtic win (and they should) they will win the league as I see no way Rangers would rack up enough goals against a team who see them as their most despised rival (I do accept many teams in Scotland see Rangers as their most despised rival). As a Rangers fan it's been a great season in comparison to many recent seasons but it has been painful to watch the title slip away in recent weeks and I do expect Celtic to finish the job tonight. Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: kinboshi on May 22, 2008, 02:28:37 PM Good luck all concerned. I'm sure everyone will be gracious in victory or defeat and concede that the best team won.
<wakes up in shower with Bobby Ewing> Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: scotty2hatty on May 22, 2008, 02:44:13 PM tbh, i assumed Rangers had won the league til someone mentioned after the 'Well game that Celtic were ahead on gd.
i've no preference for a winner. although i like to see united lose. Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: rossfourfive on May 22, 2008, 03:52:16 PM No way are nilnilgers scoring enough goals against the Dons to win the league. I fancy 1-1 but obviously a Dons win would be a nice way to finish off the season.
COME ON YOU REDS! Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: Hairydude on May 22, 2008, 05:52:10 PM Heres the double- Rangers to win 1-0 & Dundee Utd to beat Celtic 2-1 in a Carbon Copy of helicopter sunday where motherwell beat Celtic 2-1 to hand us the league. You heard it here 1st- 202 to 1 in Totesport

Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: Colchester Kev on May 22, 2008, 09:25:21 PM 2-0 Aberdeen ... IT IS NOW !!
Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: Colchester Kev on May 22, 2008, 09:28:22 PM Gordon Strachan is on course to follow Willie Maley and Jock Stein as the only Celtic manager to win three consecutive league titles.

(which is a good thing as Murray won't shell out any dosh anyways) Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: TightEnd on May 22, 2008, 09:45:21 PM Strachan OUT. Oh hold on a second.....

Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: bobby1 on May 23, 2008, 01:32:23 AM Well done Celtic, this must go down as one of the best SPL title races ever. Proper swings and roundabouts stuff. Tough on Rangers but at the end of the day they didnt manage to maintain their form long enough in what were pretty extreme circumstances.
Now I can concentrate on cheering on Dumfries' finest in the cup final. Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: Teacake on May 24, 2008, 07:27:17 PM Never in doubt ;yippee;
Title: Re: SPL Climax Post by: GlasgowBandit on May 26, 2008, 12:05:57 PM I feel rather delicate today, I think I'll just close the curtains and stay on the couch!
Do I still want rid of Strachan? Well I really am not sure, I think he deserves tremendous credit for what he has done, I still believe though he has done irreversible damage to his reputation amongst the fans and some os his decisions have been absolutely baffling, I don't buy into the fact that Rangers "gave us the league" at the end of the day the team that wins the most games, scores the most goals concedes the least will inevitably win the title on this occasion it was Celtic. If Strachan is to go we need a manager who can come in and hit the ground running, IMO this was a tremendous effort by Celtic to get there in the end. Here is hoping that Scotlands Shame FC fails to qualify for the CL and we could be looking at a nice transfer kitty of £20 million it should get us a few decent players to strengthen the side. Ship out some of the deadwood and bring in some quality and we should be going for 4 in a row. Unfortunately one of the areas I feel strachan has done most damage is in the transfer market, he has squandered moneyand his bad signings outweigh the good IMO. |
