Title: New tactics for Scammers Post by: Graham C on May 27, 2008, 06:13:39 PM One of those annoying surveys just called up, apparently I've won a free holiday and will be entered in the Prize Draw when I do the survey. She asked me to confirm my address but I said I wasn't prepared to offer any information about myself over the phone and her reply was "That's ok Sir, you don't have to worry, we're a listed company and won't sell on your details"
Oh, that's ok then, bank details anyone? We then had a 3 minute conversation on why I wasn't going to tell her anything. If I had someone else to talk to in the house, it would have been shorter! Title: Re: New tactics for Scammers Post by: Bongo on May 27, 2008, 06:28:36 PM I actually had a company randomly ask for my bank details over the phone. I said "there is no way you're getting them" and the guy explained it was perfectly OK, they would never use them they just needed them to prefill the form they were going to send me for my convenience. When I said I could happily do that myself he said it wasn't possible, so I just told him to leave me alone!
