Title: On the diary bandwagon : A diary of a diary reader. Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on June 02, 2008, 11:08:46 PM Decided to join the bandwagon today and create my own diary, seems we don't have enough of them in this place. Anyway, here is where I am going to keep a diary, of all the diary's I read.
I think I am probably the only person who hasn't got one on here so feel left out. Enjoy it. Title: Re: On the diary bandwagon : A diary of a diary reader. Post by: celtic on June 02, 2008, 11:12:41 PM looking forward to it rooks.

Title: Re: On the diary bandwagon : A diary of a diary reader. Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on June 03, 2008, 09:59:08 PM What I have learnt from todays diary entries ;
Well today, there was not much on offer, disappointing tbh. I was ready to go this afternoon, Quavers at hand, Diet Coke at my disposal and settled down for a diary afternoon. I had only finished one bag of Quavers by the time I had completed all entries! Fk my life. I read Chompy's post on this and Celtic's Vegas diary, moaning about having a headache because he couldn't decide what comp to play first, the $2k or the $300. Sigh, what a headache that is eh? I know I wouldn't mind being able to play either of the two and I am sure most people reading feel the same. 77Dave made a post on his, first time for 2 months now, and it was the first time since he got married - theres a suprise, where is that under the thumb picture when ya need it? Here is a little quote : OK so i guess i owe a long post seeing as i haven't posted on my blog since i got married on March 26th. Well i have been married for just over 2 months now and i have to admit that i have been very happy for most of it. This is mainly because our 3 months was up and we had to return to sunny England. I could only stomach a week there but Nancy stayed for over 3 weeks to visit friends and family both in England and Ireland. Well i went against Kev's advice and got married and i have to say i have never been so happy. i honestly wish we had done it sooner. Nancy clearly is either writing this on his account, or she has a secret account and Dave is just scared of being grounded again. One good thing though is he has found himself a house, congrats. So, what have I learnt from diaries today? I learnt who wears the trousers in the 77Dave household now he is married. I learnt that Chompy gets easy headaches and perhaps doesn't appreciate how lucky he really is. More to come tomorrow (I hope), lets hope those lazy poker players update there diaries! Title: Re: On the diary bandwagon : A diary of a diary reader. Post by: Claw75 on June 03, 2008, 10:01:09 PM quality first post - looking forward to tomorrow's instalment!

Post by: Snatiramas on June 04, 2008, 03:38:42 PM Of course, no discussion of the food of Leicestershire would be complete without considering Walker and Sons, manufacturer of high-quality potato crisps and other snack products. Henry Walker who founded the company in 1948 was a successful pork butcher who moved from Mansfield to Leicester in the 1880's to take over an established business in the high street. Mr Walker and his son offered quality meat and the business prospered, eventually moving to Cheapside in 1912. However, when the Second World War broke out meat was strictly rationed and even in 1948 Walker's shops were sold out by 10 a.m. every day. With a factory that was working at half-capacity, Mr Walker pondered over how he could make better use of his premises and work force. The company's managing director, Mr. R.E Gerrard, discovered potato crisps, which were enormously popular with the public but subject to rationing and the first Walkers production line came into being in the empty upper storey of Walker's Oxford Street factory in Leicester. During these early days the potatoes were sliced up by hand and cooked in an ordinary fish and chip fryer and Mr. Gerrard himself was the first cook. From this humble start, the public's love affair with crisps and Walkers began and crisp manufacture was here to stay. Today, Walkers is Britain's largest crisp manufacturer, employing over 4,000 people in 15 locations.

Just catching up on diaries - no Quaver's today as I am at Lings, so 4 Ginsters sausage roll's and a can of diet coke were needed instead. Not a bad strike rate but it had to be said that I was hungry so I was probably eating quite fast. Anyway, diaries, zzzzzzzzzz.... I learnt how boring it is talking about wildlife when I read Red's diary, I mean, get out there and get looking for the wonderful birds, frogs, toads or whatever, but to read a load of posts trying to describe certain happenings isn't my cup of tea tbh. Especially when the 'expert' Red dog is obv using wikipedia/google or such and replying. I thought it was just Tikay that did that! Next was Chompy's diary, boring talk of his flight, and then some bragging, of course, what diary can go without bragging? Something about 5 out of 15 bla bla. The best read so far though was Jeeves' diary. Despite clearly lieing in a number of places about his master, it is entertaining. And of course the brag posts thrown in there! Still not updated is the old fella Tikay - where has he been lately anyway ? And Claw's diary has lasted all of 2 nights I believe! Well done :) Diary writers get updating more regularly please!!! I did like he's accusation of mass googling amongst the diary generation, i think a few people have thought that for a while but he had the guts to just come out with it, think what he'll come up with next time if he stays off of the diet coke! I had hoped not to have needed to make an entry, but Bolt went and made his first entry, so I have to as well because I stupidly said I would. Bolt's diary - to follow Rookie's diary of diaries - was quite encouraging for a first attempt. His wise nod of approval towards Rookie's thought process on Google was most certainly a good passage. I also liked his astute observation of Rookie's diet coke consumption. The style was good and of a very appetising, easy-bite size. More please. Title: Re: On the diary bandwagon : A diary of a diary reader. Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on June 13, 2008, 12:03:51 AM Sorry guys, its been busy! So many people starting diaries ffs! It's ridiculous, i'm having to employ readers to supply me with cliff notes ffs!
And Bolt I didn't think you liked mine anyway ? Right, so to start.. We might aswell start with the regular diaries first, the ones that just talk random and build up to 100+ pages long (not that i'm going to tell you who's diary this is, this would be unfair on Red Dog). It began talking about weeds, how wonderful! More googling ends up in diaries. I swear, if you took out everything that was acquired through googling on these diaries, mine would probably be the longest already! Anyway, somehow we go from talking about weed's (with a bit of flirting from the nun and red) to talking about Terrorists - just how does that happen? Where is the connection there? And before you know it, we then go back to talking about nature ffs! I give up! We find out that a green woodpecker apparently finds that Tom and his family are friendly - imo he just doesn't want them to get the hump when they notice the shitting target games they are having on Tom's roof and the holes they are drilling through his walls! The old fella's diary is all over the place too. Something about vowels which required googling, and said googling wins Tikay a £100 bet now! I tell you, the saying 'money goes to money' really is true. Then talk about why online aliases, quite clear really - we can't all have our own names ! Then 77dave poses a question about war - cue more mass googling - which then turns out to make 77dave wrong! Then we move onto some new diaries, and some Vegas diaries. Mainly from most going from Luton, that can't keep it all in one thread. They are all going together, staying together, playing together, but have to make different threads to update ffs! Sad news - the best diary around has made its last entry. Jeeves was the funniest guy on here and has now been banned from posting by that tosser NoFlops Homer. Who, since winning one tournament on Full Tilt, thinks he is God's gift ! Jeeves, you have my permission to write some more mate, Homer's a dickhead anyway. And if he sacks you I know of plenty of places you can be employed! YAVD - this is the new abbreviation. For those of you not in the know it means, Yet Another Vegas Diary. So basically RichEO is saying, yes there are too many diaries on Blonde, but i'm going to shove another one on anyway, just to annoy Rookie. So anyway, he's off to Vegas, and the silly git has bought a £270 laptop to update us! No wonder nobody has had the nerve to say on his thread that they don't give a shit! LOL. And then to really go over the top he has bought a mouse for £80!!!!!!! I would hope that it played the poker for me without me having to touch it if i paid £80 for a mouse!! Anyway, we know his commitment is there, well, until that is he sets off on his plane trip (which has 38 stops approximately before it hits Vegas - was it cheap by any chance?) and he realises he has forgotten his laptop charger. What a plank. Finally, i'm gonna roll them into one, because thats how they should be anyway. The Luton boy's diaries. Celtic, Chompy and Sicilian. Well, Chompy, ok, has had some bad luck, but come on this is just turning into a bad beat box. You are going to owe a fortune soon with all these 50p's! Then the funniest thing... Sicilian writes : "Me Celtic and chompy decided to try the 8pm comp same structure as Luton Friday 5k 30 min clock" What a great idea. Let's fly to Vegas just to play the same comp we could have played had we still been in Luton this Friday! I am still reading this one just because I can't wait for the day that it is posted that one of them went out on the piss last night and woke up married to Edna. Then and only then, I will be a happy diary reader. And breathe! Title: Re: On the diary bandwagon : A diary of a diary reader. Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on June 13, 2008, 12:08:53 AM PS. Toot toot! posting covertly could be dangerous - if you are discovered you may lose your livelihood, and we wouldn't want the burden of responsibility should that come to pass. If you do decide to take this risky strategy I would urge you to rename your diary thread to ensure that it is something that will be of absolutely no interest to your master, lest he stumble upon it whilst browsing the forum. Might I suggest "diary of an ordinary working class person doing ordinary things" Title: Re: On the diary bandwagon : A diary of a diary reader.
