Title: Hand help Post by: smithy69 on November 06, 2005, 05:56:01 PM Just got knocked out of a torni - i read the hand correctly in every way - but played it badly
dealt 2h 2s limp in - 1 raise with 2 other callers flop comes down 9d 4s 3c original raiser bets 100 into a 400 pot. the other 2 fold - I know I should have raised here as he is showing weakness, but was 99% he had ace king and thought id let him hang himself flop is a 4c. I bet out 200 to try and give a sign of weakness as I know what he has ( i think i do) and he does what i want and moves all in. I am 100% now he has ace king and call - after telling everyone what he has He turns over ace king - and rivers a Kh I then get slated by everyone even though I explained what he had before i called. How shud I have played this guys/gals Title: Re: Hand help Post by: Nidavellir on November 06, 2005, 06:00:42 PM if you were so sure he had ace king i would probably moved all in or a big enough raise to put him off the hand. Also saying that sometimes people will not lay down the ace king untill the river if they havent hit anything, because everyone knows ace king is better than aces :dontask: lol
Title: Re: Hand help Post by: smithy69 on November 06, 2005, 06:01:43 PM There waqs no way he was laying it down, as long as a ace king doesnt arrive im in the hand upto the end -
Title: Re: Hand help Post by: Nidavellir on November 06, 2005, 06:06:11 PM if there was no way he was laying down the hand then hes a fish simple as and he got lucky the hand pre flop between yous was roughly 50/50 ok by the turn you were abouy a 3-1 fave i believe, but its poker so you will get outdrawn they only other way is you folding on the flop since you never hit your set.
Title: Re: Hand help Post by: smithy69 on November 06, 2005, 06:09:24 PM yeah i am thinking now i maybe should have folded, but i knew he had ace king so didnt wanna fold when i knew i had the best hand
Title: Re: Hand help Post by: madasahatstand on November 06, 2005, 10:49:17 PM i would have put him off the call by doing a large raise. if he called after the flop id lay it down
