We're going to see the Foo Fighters at Wembley on Friday (blatant brag post), and looking at the website parking nearby isn't a good option.  I've driven to Wembley before, and it was arse, so I don't want to do it again anyway.

So, if we're driving down from the Midlands on the M40, where's the best place to leave the car and then continue in by train/tube?  Anyone got any suggestions (other than to use Google)?

uxbridge or amersham have got to be the best bet boshi then tube from there about 10 stops from either

travel ,to the bottom of the M1 and then through Cricklewood to Kilburn on the A41

park on the road by Kilburn tube station and get the Jubilee line to Wembley Park

They must be a big deal now cus 2 people from my work are also going there..

Some Chiltern trains stop at Wembley Stadium. You can get these from High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, South Ruislip (as the Chiltern Line basically follows the M40).

If those trains aren't too regular, the A40 goes past Hillingdon station on the Metropolitan line - you can get that to Wembley Park.

Just checking to see what times the trains/tube runs until.  Tube is fine, they still run after midnight. Just checking the trains now.

Just have to make sure wherever we get the train from has adequate parking...

I drive to Stanmore....big car park and on the right line.
M1 J4 go to roundabout turn right....stay on road can't miss it

Think West Ruislip has a bigger carpark. Where I normally park for a trip to London.

Looking at the tube journeys, some are saying that "Planned engineering works are taking place".  Anything to be worried about, or just standard?

well next time you can park at my place too if you like.  It's free, and if you're lucky you might get a cuppa as well!

it might mean that some lines are closed completely so you'll need to check out exactly what that means.

shouldn't be anything to worry about as it's not a w/end. only the Viccy line closing early but you won't be on that

They won't affect you - they're for places away from where you'll be.

Just park there and sit in the queues.  It'll take ages, but you can sit there listening to your own stuff.  Taking the trains take ages too, but you get shoved about all over the place so you don't recognise as much. 

Top gig though, enjoy - quite jealous.

Is it the Stadium or the Arena?  I guess the Stadium in which case parking will be painful, but if it's the Arena, driving should be fine.  Western Club isn't too far away, drop the car off there, few cash games afterwards!

i find this the best when travelling down from the north just 4 stops on the tube and if you want a drink and food before don't bother with wembley get of the tube one stop before go out of the tube station turn left and there is 2 pubs the 2nd one is better for food and the 1st one has the racing on

Yes - good tip. The food inside Wembley is both expensive and diabolical.

Obviously, I can't follow everyone's advice and I've decided (rightly or wrongly) to go for South Ruislip station and park at Claw's. 

Make sure you give her 50p to 'watch your car'.

I'm used to it being a fiver, and it being a little scally asking me for the money near Anfield.

50p is a bargain, and I get to tell her a bad-beat story at the same time!

well I can watch it for a couple of hours, but then I'll be heading down south for the night.  I'm sure the local youths will look after it for you though!

Very, very good.  Wembley has improved a bit since I was last there!  Foo Fighters did a good set and were on for a good 2 hours.  Stage could have done with being a bit higher as Michelle struggled to see anything from the middle of the pitch in front of the stage.  But other than that, spot on.
