and p.s the forum is only part of it..the www.blondepoker.com site, card-room, database, goodwill etc are all part of  the company.

Established forums are worth qutie a bit, I expect blonde is worth quite a few thousand.  Not sure how much, but  a fair amount, especially when you take the whole package into account.

Very difficult to speculate as something is only worth what someone wants to pay for it - irrespective of what 'value' the accountants may give something.

The financial value of Blonde is not our business imho.

devilfish poker was valued at 2 mill i think when it floated with 700 customers, blonde has 2K customers and a forum with advertising and sponsorship and stuff. therefore in my expert opinion it must be worth at least eleventy billion.

if the advertising is on short term contract then its like a noose around a potential buyers neck. you would  need to wait for the contract to end (because the money is spent already) and have no assurances it would be renewed.  the cardroom only keeps itself afloat ( we have heard) so wouldnt attract big money. I think its Blondes brand thats worth the most personally but I've no idea what thats worth and the market is narrowed to the poker world so you would have to target the sale into the poker community. At the end of the day Blonde poker means Tikay (and david colclough) and it would be worth less out of his hands I reckon? Have no idea of the numbers at all here?

I own a gambling forum myself, so found this thread interesting. a few IMOs:

just trying to buy the blondepoker website and forum, one could expect blonde to laugh in your face if you offered anything less than 100k Sterling (I would still say no if offered that amount though).

The domain name isn't worth millions like poker dot com or gambling dot com, however the fact that you have targeted niche traffic and lots of big spenders on here means that you would be an idiot to sell it for 100k, given that you can make >100k a year (eventually) from such a site due a number of revenue streams:

- affiliate deals (click a willhill banner and create an account and blonde gets a a large %age of your rake.. for life because they referred you for example... or CPA which means no revenue share, but a fat flat fee when a user deposits and plays a site for a bit (up to 80 quid for the referring site!)
- Selling "sponsored by" bits of your forum to whoever has the most cash to burn,
- Pay per click (or pay per thosand visits ads. - yes, this means that just by visiting a forum, you are supporting it finacially - albeit in a small way)
- Flat fee banner sales
- Selling reviews etc.

I see the player database etc more as traffic building and search engine pleaseing and would just chuck it in with the domain if selling..
The bottom line Is that you  are not going to sell the goose that lays the golden eggs.

There are a bunch of "estimate the worth of a domain" tools on the web, and all of them are terribly inaccurate, as they mostly factor things like dmoz links, number of cached pages, pagerank and numerous other factors which cannot really take revenues from above list into consideration
 
I would say that you will only get your hands on the blonde site with a mega fat offer, heck you might have to prize the site from the dead hands of the owners!

It's the database that's worth the money and the brand name, the rest any buyer can set up themselves, basically the members give it the value for the shareholders to cream off.
They should at least give bolt a t shirt imo.

Perhaps the people who use the forum dont want a new owner!

The  current market for selling private businesses is not at the bubble levels of the late 90's.

No intrinsic value for businesses like this so 5 or 6 x earnings perhaps - maybe up to 10 if there was a keen buyer and/or 2-3 years of quite fast growth
