Title: Home Games, Whats the Law? Post by: LOJ on June 12, 2008, 11:21:43 AM Hi All, I wanted to ask a few people on the forum about home/private games and what the law/legislation is regarding this? I have organised a few home tourneys over the last month with up to 8 people and it has grown in interest & last week there were 16 players wanting to play, due to my little house not being able to cope with 16 beer drinking louts, I have had to look for a venue to host the tourney. I am on the commitee of a local cricket club and have asked them about hosting the tourney at the club house. There were a few raised eyebrows for this, but when I mentioned that we would charge a £1.50 per player admission fee & this would go to the club and that a bar would also generate profits, oppinions changed and the members all started to take note. The plan is to run a monday night tourney with up to 30 players, £10 into the pot, and £1.50 to the club. I have tried to google to get some info but not much luck at the moment. Any advice on this would be much appreciated?? Title: Re: Home Games, Whats the Law? Post by: jizzemm on June 12, 2008, 12:07:48 PM im sure the North Wales police will be interested.. !!
Ur fine, who cares, every other fcker has poker venues, and the £1.50 will be a contribution to the club not a fee wont it.. Title: Re: Home Games, Whats the Law? Post by: bolt pp on June 12, 2008, 12:09:49 PM make the tourney a re-buy with an add on at the break thats different in amount from that of the starting stack so no one can count the chips in play and work out how much money you've taken on the rebuys, then you pocket some money for yourself, buy the club a new set of stumps and everybodys happy.
