Title: Questions about limit play
Post by: BigSoti on June 14, 2008, 09:06:13 AM
Hi Guys, was playing a bit of Limit Hold em this morning which is unusal for me as I normally play NL cash games. The following hand occured and I'm wondering what the regualr Limit players on here make of the way I played it and whether or not I got maximum value from the hand.

Cheers

Why on earth would you check the river?

I was scared that someone might have made the straight on the river.

Surely in limit any made straight would bet the river rather than check it to you?

I don't mind just just calling the second raise as opposed to capping pre-flop.

But I would deffo bet the river for value with one customer let alone two.

When the pot is this big in limit it is virtually certain that you will get called by a worse hand - so you have to bet the river, ppl make crying calls in limit all the time.

You should bet this river, in this situation, approximately 100% of the time.
