Title: Where is this? Post by: Tonji on June 19, 2008, 11:51:14 AM Hi all,
Anyone have any idea where this is. The photo is a bit faded, but I've included some close ups. Thanks, any ideas appreciated. Title: Re: Where is this? Post by: Tonji on June 19, 2008, 01:29:06 PM Cheers Phatomch,
That seems a good call. The towers are similar in shape, but because the photo has lost some contrast, the lack of detail makes it difficult to get a match. I think your on the right lines though, in that it was proberly something like a hospital, or I my first thought was a Public School. Title: Re: Where is this? The reason that private schools are called public schools in England is historical. These older schools were formed when there was little or no school system; they were called public schools then, because at that time schooling was really only available for the elite by private tutoring. By comparison, these early schools were considered public ... as opposed to private tuition. |
