she has added everyone to her facebook ... but i dont know anyone that has the faintest clue who she/he/it is ... anyone know ?

I seem to be one of the minority that hasn't accepted her, not a clue who she is and google didn't seem to make it any clearer.

I accepted her request, then deleted her a couple of weeks later. A couple of days later, she added me again.

She works for one of the UK poker trade mags I believe, Southern Californian lady.

I got to know a couple of Blondes a bit better by adding them in Facebook.  Not sure how or why, but tis true.

When I got a request I replied and asked who she was..!!

One thing I can assure you is that she isn't the tidy blonde on this picture.

The girl in the picture has about as much to do with poker as the girl on the Blonde website.

They're models designed to entice pervy blokes to sign up for something that they otherwise might not. I find it very sad that anyone would make her a friend on facebook because let's face it, you don't know her!!!!

thought i'd best introduce myself as i was informed there was a bit of a thread going on here questioning my identitiy ;-) !!
i've just scrolled down and there's too many points to clear up straight away... suffice to say that i am authentic, not a marketing ploy, that is me in the photo's, i am a journalist, don't work for celebpoker, sorry if i've requested you as a friend once/twice/more(!!) on facebook, always happy to chat on facebook/email etc... errrmmmmm - anything else?
yes, a few of you may have recieved similar introductory messages on facebook... but many people ask who i am and the answer generally doesn't change too much ;-) !! i am guilty of a little cut and pasting now and again... aren't we all???
callie is my sister and that's why i was able to arrange a decent freeroll at celeb with a decent prize... i am running a few tourneys and they wil rotate poker sites so i can avoid accusations that i'm marketing for anybody in partcular. all my friends should have been invited... certainly all my group were. the facebook venture started off as a mission to build up my own global network of poker enthusiasts that i could tap into for info when writing... it has grown far larger than i anticipated - turned into a social network experiment really!! but i value everyone on there and will happily correspond with anybody!!
i understand all the cynicism and doubt - i am the same with most randoms that add me -  but, i am just myself at the end of the day! i'm rambling now... i guess that's what i do!!

you say it's not a marketing ploy, and that you're just looking to make friends, but those shots are quite clearly professional and it looks like an advertising banner to me :)

I'm one of the poeple that hasn't added you as I'm uncomfortable having facebook friends that I don't know in real life.  I have to say my take on the whole thing was that here was a pretty girl, in to poker, using facebook as a platform to other things (offer of a sponsorship deal maybe?).  Good luck with whatever it is you're trying to achieve :)

ha ha - only one of the shots is professional and that is a mock up by the guy's down at celeb. i recently did some website creative for them and so all the back end staff are friends of mine on facebook... when i organised the freeroll at celeb, through callie, they thought it'd be funny to upload me onto their team celebpoker sponsored players page - i believe it was up there for a day!!! that photo is actually me on a train from manchester to liverpool for a night out... i kid you not!!! but i pinched it for my facebook anyway!!!
and, yes, i'm pretty much open to any enquiries and will put up photo's if you want... but there's nore to me than that, i promise!!

i'm not sure i'm following this thread completely... i'll answer what i can!
in terms of my poker playing, i generally stick to NL hold 'em cash tables... on and off line. i much prefer live play but it's obviously not available 24/7 (yet!!)... i am lucky that my work has taken me to some big live events over the past year or so (ept's, wsope etc). online, i play at a few sites... worldpokerarena, spin32poker, celebpoker at the moment - used to play on stars and full tilt but i found the volume of player traffic on the cash tables a bit of a nuisance!

It has marketing excercise written all over it, and it's pretty dishonest imo. Myspace started to get ridic due to this sh1t, now people you you are doing it on facebook sigh.

Personally I rake a LOT on celeb (800e in last 3 days I think).. maybe celeb should spend some of that rake on proper advertising instead of spamming people on fbook (oh so indirectly.)

i would love to come to blonde bash... perhaps if i turn up with callie then it'll convince some of you that we're not the same person (although her football skills aren't up to much!!).
as for the continued scepticism (alexross)... i'm not sure what more i can say. i am happy to talk and answer questions! i was not aware i was spamming anybody on behalf of celeb?? i only messaged people who were facebook friends/group members (therefore negating the term 'spam' as people had actively opted in?) and it was purely an invite to the first 'nikki dove poker community' tourney. yes, it was on celebpoker, but i had to start somewhere right? if i put on subsequent tourneys at different sites will that satisfy some of your doubts?
at the moment, i am not profiting from this venture - obviously i have been approached by sites offering affiiate deals but, at the moment, i am keen to maintain my integrity and respect within the group i've created... i am honest and open with everyone - if, in the future, i am set to gain through anything i promote then i will be open about this. i am bright enough to recognise that this industry is full of bluffs and charades - i am never going to please or convince anybody! personally, i am pretty pleased and proud of what i've achieved... i am building something for myself rather than hanging onto the coat-tails of others  ;topofclass;

I agree with this, but why not just be open with it?  I do believe there's a similiar facebook group set up where the founder has clearly stated her intention that she's using facebook to try to become famous.  can't remember if it's poker related or not.

But where is the borderline between using Facebook for networking - and using it for spamming?

why doed there have to be a border ? people use the blonde forum to advertise their comps, so why not use facebook/bebo to promote your buisness. I am not on either facebook or any other sites like it but to me it seems sensible to use it, but yes maybe be more honest but hey thats sales if it was'nt for the people coldcalling/spamming at my work i would'nt earn money.
