Title: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: dan on June 30, 2008, 08:53:14 PM Seriously who the fuck does he think he is??
This is the 1st season he has started to do anything. Yes he scored 24 league goals but 25% of those goals were against Derby. He now wants £120k per week, the same as Henry was reportedly on in his final year at Arsenal as he sees himself as an ideal replacement for Henry. Get real, Henry is/was one of the greatest players in our club's history and one of the best players this country has seen (imo). Won shitloads of honors compared to nothing that Adebayor has won. Adebayor went missing when it really mattered, at the end of January he was joint top scorer with Ronaldo, he then went 7 games without scoring. Adebayor butted his own teammate and reportedly told Bendtner he was shit, it was only 12 months ago Adebayor was in the Carling cup team. He has never been well liked by all the fans at Arsenal. There are 4 of us who travel down to Arsenal every home game and after the penultimate home game of the season we all agreed that if someone came in with £15m for him we would we sell him. I cannot believe the price quoted for him. Fuck me he only finished 3rd in the Arsenal player of the season. If Barca, Milan or so I have heard today Chelsea want to spend £25m-£30m on him let him go. I can only think Wenger is holding out for as much money as possible for him, I cannot believe he will turn down that sort of money. If I was Wenger I would get that money for him and reinvest it in Eto, Villa or possibly even Berbertov. WHO THE FUCK DOES HE THINK HE IS?? What are other people's views on him?? After reading this back it sounds a bit like a whinge at him because he might be off post, but honestly its not, I really want him to go, not just because of how greedy he has become but because I think £25m+ is just too mush money to turn down for a player that has had 1 good season! Title: Re: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: kinboshi on June 30, 2008, 08:57:52 PM I was chatting to WarBwastard (another Gooner) at the weekend, and I was saying that there's no way he's worth £25M+, and I'm sure Arsenal can replace him. He's not a bad player at all, and knows where the goal is (not that he can always find it though), but I think he's been listening to his agent a little too much.
He's certainly no Henry. Title: Re: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: turny on June 30, 2008, 09:00:51 PM agree dan not good enough to ever to be considered in the same breath as henry.
take the 25million as soon as possible before people realise its jusr another clever piece of overrated business by wenger like he did with anelka all those years ago. Title: Re: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: Graham C on June 30, 2008, 09:03:44 PM Yeah I agree. Not done much until this season and then it's been off and on.
Shit, I've burnt my lasagna Title: Re: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: GlasgowBandit on June 30, 2008, 09:08:38 PM We had this debate at work last year one of the lads rates Adebayor, has a soft spot for Arsenal from when he lived in London and always looks for their results. I don't rate Adebayor, I think he's a bit of a donkey tbh. £25 million I snap someones hands if they offered that. Wegner would invest that wisely that I am sure of.
Title: Re: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: Maxriddles on June 30, 2008, 11:00:34 PM If I was Arsene Wenger and was offered £25m for him I'd take him by piggy back to whatever mugs would pay it.
Title: Re: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: TheChipPrince on July 01, 2008, 11:32:48 AM If Gareth Barry is worth £18 mil, Adebayor is worth £25 mil, but Barry isnt worth £18 mil, and Adebayor isnt worth £25 mil...
All clubs asked 50% too much for players to begin with... Title: Re: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: Karabiner on July 01, 2008, 11:45:22 AM If Chelsea want him, then I'd take Droghba as a straight swop in a heartbeat.
Adebayor is just a greedy troublemaker with delusions of grandeur, although he can play a bit and is only 24. £30M, yes please although anyone can have him for £25M if they take Eboue as well. Title: Re: Emmanuel Adebayor Post by: scotty2hatty on July 01, 2008, 01:32:44 PM I pretty much agree with what has been said here.
Sky Sports has been a joke recently with a new article about him every day - "I'm staying", "I'm going", "I want more money", "I'm going to Milan". His finishing isn't the best though. £25 million is a good offer I would probably take.
